So...assuming Serenity goes big, what will they call the sequels?

Some ideas:

Sequel 1: Whore Academy
Sequel 2: Revenge of the Very Fine Hat

or...

Sequel 1: For the Love of Niska (subtitled--Terror on the Skyplex)
Sequel 2: A Mighty Fine Shindig

or...

Sequel 1: Serenity: The Big Damn Sequel
Sequel 2: Serenity: Return of the Big Damn Sequel

Sequel 1: Revenge of Monty's Soup Catcher
Sequel 2: Revenge of the Hill Folk

or on a more serious note...

Sequel 1: Return to Serenity Valley
Sequel 2: Return of Jubal Early

So what do you think they should be called?

That's a lot of "Returns"...possibly I am not as creative as I thought...

I think one-word titles will be the theme of the Big Damn Trilogy. Ending the successful movie trilogy with the orginal series' title will be vinegar in F*x' wounds, don't you think?

Don't know about the third sequel, but the second one has to be:

Serenity 2: Hands of Blue

It rhymes and everything!

On a more serious note, perhaps, "Blue Sun Rising" would be a more appropriate name. Sorry, but I can't think ahead to a 3rd sequel yet...have to see what happens in the second!

"v/r" is military shorthand for "Very Respectfully", used primarily in short notes and memos.

'-zed' is a little more obscure. First, I'm an Anglophile. I married an English woman a little over 17 years ago (and counting, thanks). There is much to admire about English culture; as well as much to find fault in. Like any other human culture, non?

Second, my roots are Cajun (though I was born and raised in Texas). My father's name was Gerald -- God rest his soul -- and my grandparents' nickname for him was 'Jed'. A 'cadian farmer's nickname. So, 'zed' has a familiar feel to me somehow, through all of that.

I confess I got the notion of shortening my sig because Joss always signs his posts '-j'; ergo, '-zed'. Call me a fanboy, if you will; but I confess to admiring our modern-day Shakespeare, and a little emulation of him and the English-usage alphabet is not so terribly shameful, certainly?

Thanks for asking. Might I be so bold as to ask what 'cozen' signifies, in return?

But of course.

In a novel, to my discredit having forgotten which one, though I'll guess "Tristram Shandy", I came across the word "cozenage". This happened a good 25 years ago. "Wtf?", thought I, reaching for a dictionary. Turns out the word has to do with being a trickster. As a verb: "cozen", to cheat or trick (someone).

Having experienced the "Internet" since the days of arpanet and fantastically low baud rate university bulletin boards, (via Apple 2E's and such -- anyone recall Michigan Terminal System?) I've long felt the computer interface allowed an incidental trick inherent in the the communications technology, whereby the user/poster/me/you could somewhat safely pose as anyone. Without the tremendous information we humans glean from body language and timbre of voice, we can be fooled, or fool others. Thus, a system enabling trickery.

Hardly an unexamined viewpoint, but it resonates purely with me.

So, "cozen" sums it up nicely in my brainpan.

Also, kinda helps that it's a unique tag.

As a former military man myself, I recognized v/r right away (I still catch myself putting it in emails). But also as a former military man, I know the difference between v/r and r.
