As you see in my signature, I'm from Switzerland, and I'm wondering if(and how) firefly reached other non American (Fox recieving)people.
My story is this (Here's how it is...):
On a Buffy-Fansite there was a download of the first 5 minutes of "The Train Job" in a very bad quality. But this 5 minutes did produce an interest. So I download the whole episode over Kazaa. And I fell in love.....
Every saturday morning I turnd on my PC and searched Kazaa for the new episodes.
And now I'm hanging around here and keep on hoping.
So are there any european/asian/african/(or whatever) fans here?

Sweden.
I heard about Firefly last spring on some Byffy-board, and since I like westerns, space and Joss Whedon I thought it probably would be a brilliant combination. And ain't it just?

Turkey.
The story is kinda the same. Saw the first 2 season of Buffy on a local network. When they didnt continue with the series i started my own Kazaa mission of completing the series. Fell in love with the style of Joss Whedon. Started Angel too.. While checking web for more buffy/angel stuff came across a lil info about Joss making a new series called Firefly.
My first Firefly episode was a very bad quality unaired serenity. I instantly fell in love with it. Now i am hating fox and watching net for any good news of Firefly :)

Well, personally I'm English... I'd been looking forward to seeing Firefly since the news about Joss doing a new how came out... ohhh... a year or so ago. I couldn't wait (Big Buffy fan here) so as soon as it came out (And I had a Broadband connection) I started downloading from Grokster.
Best move I ever made.
Twelve spheres of unendurable brightness spalled the velvety blackness of space.
The silence on Lester Tourville's flag bridge was absolute
And then the spell was broken as Shannon Foraker looked up from her console from where she had just sent a seemingly innocent command to the main computers of State Security's finest Superdreadnoughts.
"Oops." She said.

Another Canadian here.
I began watching Buffy about midway through the third season, and when Angel began I made a point of watching that also. Initially my watching was somewhat superficial. However, Joss Whedon's writing is subversive, in that you think you might be just a mild fan, and then one day you wake up and realise that you are totally addicted.
As soon as I heard about a new series called 'Firefly' by my favourite writer/creator, I made a point of watching. And yes, I was hooked from the start. I was immensely disappointed by the Fox refusal to renew the series, but I have not lost hope (remember, after Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a movie, it took five (5!) years before it became the series we know and love).
So a Canadian fan is still hanging in there, waiting with confidence and a sort of wistful hope that it won't be another five years...
"Whether it happens in a hundred years or a thousand years or a million years, eventually our Sun will grow cold and go out. When that happens, it won't just take us. It'll take Marilyn Monroe and Lao-Tzu and Einstein and Morobuto and Buddy Holly and Aristophenes .. and all of this .. all of this was for nothing unless we go to the stars." — J. Michael Straczynski
