Totally agree - I just happen to have a photo of my fav browncoat ensemble (from my last business trip to NYC) that's along those lines. Slightly rakish yet approachable, casual without being trashy, and extra inside pockets for smuggling med supplies or the odd weapon:

I have a coat that looks like Jayne's "disguise" from "Jaynestown". Espscialy if I'm wearing goggles and have the hood up.

I'll be going as one of Patience's goons. :)

I have heard of a place where humans do battle in a ring of Jell-O.

Y'know, it's funny, but if I wear what I often do -- a Hawaiian shirt and a vest with lots of pockets -- I'll already be in costume as Wash.

I've never dressed up as a character. Amazon.com has some Chinese inspired shirts and then, since I live in the Los Angeles area, there's always making a trip to Chinatown for an outfit. Or, I could just come cute.

I don't want to seem like a jerk or a party pooper, but when i show up to Serenity on opening day and there are an overwhelming amount people dressed up in costumes. i'm leaving.

i love firefly and i know that Serenity will rock my socks right off. i'm so excited for this movie there are times i think my head might actually explode, but costumes!?!?! c'mon people.

I'm going to the NCBDMPP and I believe there will be a costume contest, going to the airport in costume to pick up people coming from far away and who knows what other shenanigans, so I think I will try to dress up. I don't care about people looking at me funny, and it's always more fun to be silly in a crowd. Haven't decided what I'm going to do yet. I have partials for a Kaylee costume, and I have a Serenity t-shirt with River on it. So who knows? I think it'll be much fun.

Ash-you wouldn't really walk away from seeing the movie just because there are people in costume would you? Once the movie starts, it's too dark to see them anyway. All I'm sayin' is, don't make the movie suffer just 'cuz of the crazy fans.
