Hush and OMWF were coupled together because a) Hush was the only episode without words (for more of the ep) and b) OMWF was the only ep with singing for most of the ep. They went from one extreme to the other, with OMWF being inspired by Hush's silence.

There are two ways to go about (possibly) gettting the episodes played at the Alomo Drafthouse. One is to rent the theater for a private party. This has been discussed a few times (I don't remember on which board) and would allow us to show the episodes since it be a "private" party. The down side is that it would probably be expensive.

The second option is to get the theater do do a marathon (like their upcoming Freaks and Geeks marathon in June). If enough support is shown for this idea, they would probably do it, but I doubt we would be able to set the date as it would be organized by the theater and fit into their calandar. If you are interested in trying to get the Alamo to show the episodes send an email to:

The more interest, the more likely they are to do it. I've already sent one email, so I'll let you know if they respond.

I had a teacher who showed movies like "Tombstone" in his class on Fridays with his LCD projector.

It wasn't quite as impressive as a theater, but a ten-foot-wide image is still better than any TV set!

These were two major milestone type episodes, and i think were both Emmy noms and/or winners, so that's likely the reason for pairing.

I think it's a good pairing (especially at the Alamo so we could eat during "Hush"), I just thought it was an odd coincidence that two different theatres in two different cities decided to pair both "Hush" and "OMWF".

I just wrote to the Alamo to encourage them to air some Firefly episodes, and also to offer my services: I'd love to perform "The Ballad of Joss" along with other Firefly-related music at a special event at the theater.

A GREAT place to watch Firefly on a big screen would be at one of the oldest and most famous movie theatre's in the deep South, if not the entire country. Located in Atlanta, GA, right down there on Peachtree Street, this historic land mark has been the site for concerts, stage productions and famous comedy acts. There IS one small catch, howerver that might make folks a bit uneasy to attend...it's The Fabulous FOX Theatre

Hehehehe. It would sure be ironic though. I can't imagine anything more fun though than watching the episodes and/or Serenity at the Fox, filled with Flans.

This is such a great idea! Hey all Columbus, OH Browncoats - any ideas??? I've never been there, but isn't Studio 35 the same kind of place, where you can go watch movies and still eat, drink, and be merry? Let me know if y'all come up with anything - I know I can fill a few booths with fans!
