Since when did prostitutes become known as "sex workers"?!? That's sugar-coating it! I consider myself liberal on most issues (and I ain't exactly puritanical about sex), but this is ridiculous.

I may be wrong, but I think "sex workers" is a term covering the whole gamut, so to speak - strippers, lapdancers etc. as well as prostitutes.
Like ticket-scalping or anything else that has got people on these boards riled of late, I imagine prostitution would die out PDQ if there wasn't such a demand for it...

Sex workers in the Netherlands get taxed - good job too!
Sex workers (of all kinds) should have unions, pensions and all sorts. There are some organisations (including some hardcore porn agencies) which do this but not enough.
