I can't believe no-one has yet mentioned River's speech near the end of Objects in Space. Really sad and beautiful; it brought tears to my eyes.

Mal ordering Jayne to leave the table in 'Serenity' comes to mind:
MAL: "Jayne, you will keep a civil tongue in that mouth or I will sew it shut. Is there an understanding?"
JAYNE: "You don't pay me to talk pretty. Just because Kaylee gets lubed up over some big-city--"
MAL: "Walk away from this table. Right now."
The look in Nathan and Adam's eyes during this scene is brilliant. It's awkward and tense and makes me cringe every time I see it.

I loved in "Jaynestown" Jayne's entire speach at the end.
"You took that stick and you...well, you took it. And that's somthin'."
Jayne might be a jerk about 97% of the time, but when he's not...he's a pretty good guy who really gets a thing or two about the 'verse.

i will give you that lorne was not really pleased with himself for killing lindsay but in my opinion this does not mean he disagrees with it. even though he stresses to lindsay that it was angel's plan, i still believe he was on board with it though he did not want to be the guy who pulled the trigger.
we may just have to agree to disagree.

I think it is a deep dialogue because they were best friends and he was tossed like yesterday's garbage.
And from Firefly, the whole scene that was cut from the episode Serenity was a good dialogue. I was sorry it got cut, but it is a very good one.

The internal thoughts that the crew says aloud to River as she wanders the ship in OBJECTS IN SPACE always get me, because it's the honest truth said plainly, but in the context of it all really pack a punch. OIS always stuck with me because it's the ep where we really see River for who she is. We see out of her eyes and how she interprets things and it's scary as hell.
On an interesting side note, Jayne's line of "I got stupid, the money was too good." changes context before and after the DVD release. When it was originally broadcast, without "TRASH", the live was the first real revelation any of the Tam's had of Jayne's betrayal on Ariel, which makes the lines shocking. But with the DVD's inclusion of "Trash" and the great confrontation Between Simon/River and Jayne, the line then becomes muted. It still has that sense of danger, but it now more of re-stating the fact, as well as Jayne actually admitting to River that he fucked up over her.
Out of curiosity, did anyone else notice any other changes of meaning for lines and their contect before and after the DVD set came out with three eps filling in the blanks? And why do some people think that THE MESSAGE was the final ep. The way it was set up on the DVD's, OBJECTS IN SPACE is the final ep of the series, which for me anyways is how it should be since OIS brought everything to as much of a close as possible.

Yup, that was always my favorite. And if you were around for the torturously mishandled broadcast run... well, that very quote was the last bit of Firefly to air on broadcast television. Very poignant, that.

Yeah, I was around to see the pilot aired last. I remember being slightly confused as to why there would be intended suspense on whether Simon was a good or bad guy. Then the show was cancelled. And now i know the entire story of how

Although I find this exchange funny, it certainly does give a window into Mal's character. When he thought Saffron was just a meek, timid, scared little girl, wasn't nothing he wouldn't do to help/teach/protect her. But now that he knows shes just a treacherous hump--one who put him and his in a position to die easier, I might add--he has neither time nor sympathy for her.
