I'm totally going to camp for seats as soon as the doors open (my buddies will be running food and basic supplies all day) and you're more than welcome to come keep me company :)

Hi all, de-lurking to ask about the hospitality suite. I might be able to come up with the $$$, or at least most of it, if financial help is needed.

If someone could just point me in the direction of the PTB party planners...

Hugs! sita:)

Sita, that is so shiny if you have some coin to donate!! One Browncoat, SendMeAWave, did most of the planning last year and I am sure it would make things a LOT easier if he had financial help. There was some talk of having a Browncoat suite for the con and it's pretty pricey. I believe there's also talk of a fan table. Browncoat1 was in touch with SendMeAWave. Hey BC1, you out there? Give Sita some info, maybe the Atlanta Browncoats can get rolling!

I aim to misbehave.

Thanks fireflygal for your info and for taking a minute to pull me into the loop

Not that it would be easy to convince hubby to part with the cash, and I may have to forgo my next several birthdays, Valentine's Days, Mother's Days, Christmases, etc. but it's do-able. Do you know approx how many fans gathered last year? Were there parties in the suite every night?

Hugs! sita:)

Thank you Sita for possibly sacrificing your next several holiday's for the Browncoats! Last year I'm not sure if we gathered in the regular con suite or if it was a Browncoat suite last year. There was about 18-24 folks crowded around a TV watching Firefly and at least a couple dozen more milling about, in and out. Adam Baldwin paid a visit to the suite at least once, he showed us the Serenity blooper reel on his laptop computer. I don't know if you would say there were "parties". The suite price includes some kinds of food and drink but it was fairly calm, not anything wild. I e-mailed Browncoat1 off line, so he should be riding in to the rescue with some better info for you, like a contact with Sendmeawave.
Hugs to you and hubby

I am to misbehave.

Hey Guys,
Forgive the absence - I only check message-boards so regularly. I met a handful of you (FFG, BC1, ShinyHappyKlin and Sendmeawave) at the con last year, and I can't wait to see you again in September. And yes - I will be in line to get in to the Centennial Ballroom ridiculously early in the morning, and I will stay there all day - all 3 days if necessary. This year's con will be great!!!
And for all you newbs - welcome, and you're in for a bigger treat than you realize. The con alone, even void of Firefly goodness, is an amazing amount of fun - add to that the fact that the BDHs were arguably the best guests the con had ever seen. I honestly think that by the end of the weekend, Nathan knew every Browncoat by first name. They were amazing. And a final note - I am poor and (very recently) unemployed, so I can't really help with the donation of coin; however, I am an Atlantan, so I could do a bit of help with the planning - that is when I'm not preoccupied with looking for a job. What was the Yahoo group dedicated to the planning of Firefly events at DC? I've not visited there since changing my ISP back in October. See you soon!!!

Hey SlayThis, I'm counting the days till we all meet again! We'll get you hooked up with Sendmeawave hopefully soon, if he's still willing to work on planning something.

I aim to misbehave

Looks most likely that we're gonna hook up with SITA. So FIREFLYGAL, which hotel are you in? I guess it may not necessarily matter, just curious. When it all boils down what's important is where the folk with the browncoats is at. And our BDH's of course. Don't know if I can put much to the Consuite. We'll have to see. But it sure as anything looks like we're going. Just work on the preparations & getting the final arrangements.

I can donate a bit of coin (not much seeing as how the military don't pay us young fellas much) if someone lets me know who and how.
