Anyone here NOT feeling that way after seeing the preview and NOT able to go see the screening?!?
Based on the trailer alone, I got 5 people from work really interested in Serenity and the Firefly DVD set. 3 went out at lunch and bought it.
I dont know about anyone else here, but my plans are to see this movie many... many times. Do you think this being a Sept release that it might be available on DVD in January 06? Some movies are still playing at the $2 theater here when they hit DVD.
Just as an interesting viewpoint of Wash's comment... homage to two things in one? Wash's opening comment in the ep. Serenity AND that he doesn't get excited (unless huge ice chunks are falling towards the ship)?

Wash's comment is actually just a joke at the beginning of the movie, but it's been reedited into a space scene in the trailer.

yeah, when a movie comes out in DVD it disappears from the theaters...
so I would rather see 'Serenity' still playing around the country, still building a bigger audience, and come out on DVD later on.
Of course I'm hoping for Golden Globe awards,
so don't mind me.

I'm hoping they'll want to keep it in the Theaters a bit longer because it's a big hit! But maybe they'll want the DVD out to support Oscar possibilities. :beggrin:
I know it's a huge longshot because Oscar is not a big SF fan but, hey, I can dream...

No offense to fans of Sky Captain, but I hope it's not too much to ask that Serenity gets a longer run and more acclaim. I don't think that's too much of a reach, do you ?
