So I'm one chapter closer to being done!
Feel free to ask any questions or point out mistakes, just feed me the feedback!
Two or three more chapters left, depending on how I split things up. So any thoughts on where you see things going after this chapter would be fun

You're getting sneaky and evil! Love it.
Also, I don't know if this was intentional or not, but now that Simon is taking charge, he has Mal's voice, ie: using the slang and abbreviations that Mal would instead of the proper grammar that Simon is used to. This could be intentional, like now that he's in charge, he might as well sound like it, or it could be unintentional, either way, just thought you'd like to know.

Lost Angel
WASH: Psychic, though? That sounds like something out of science fiction.
ZOE: We live in a space ship, dear.
WASH: So?

It wasn't deliberate in specifics that I would have Simon speak as Mal (Meegzi noted this over at Fanfiction.net as well), but in theory I wanted to show Simon trying to fill Mal's shoes as best he could, to show how much Mal had rubbed off on Simon (something Book isn't too happy about)
And glad that I still have my title of "evil"

Simon's Mal-isms didn't pull my focus. They're approprite, I think.
But why make Wash such an ass?

Yeah, I hear you. I knew I was doing it, I knew I was feeding a little of Jayne into him (since Jayne is such a great source of rocking the boat, and I effectually put him out of the picture). I was waiting for someone to pick that up
But I really went out of my way to *try* and not assassinate Wash. The idea of where I was coming from with him is he's not so happy go lucky since War Stories. That coupled with the fact that he was the one that Simon was threatening Mal to, that he was helpless when he heard Mal almost get shot by harmless lil Simon . . . Wash is pretty pissed.
I'll blame it on the fact that I'm not really a writer (lame, I know), don't have a good grasp of Wash, and plot contrivance. I honestly don't know Wash enough to be able to say how he would react given this situation, but Simon did try to kill Mal, and Wash was the only other person there.
So I don't know if that's a poor excuse, or legitimate reasoning.
Thanx!

I dig you. Cos I am (everybody now!) All! About! Wash!
I see the depth and I think its warranted. Definitely. I guess it's just that we all go out of our way to "protect" our favorite characters. Like how everybody was so hyper at me for the killings in "Extreme Unction."
Don't say that you're not a "writer." Obviously, you are. You've written a story that has entertained a large number of people. That makes you a writer. So check that off your excuse list.
And I understand about the voices. I'm told I write very good Wash. But just cos you get one doesn't mean the rest come easy. I think you write OUTSTANDING (!!!) Book. He's all there and you've added a "sinister" component that's deeply frightening and still remarkably true to the character.
I am so looking foward to the rest.

LOL, as soon as I posted that and headed out the door for work, I remembered that I had already agonized over Wash personally and with my beta, and had actually come to an understanding with him (Wash) (We spoke at length). So as it was too late to come back, I'm driving off thinking, "I stand by what I did with Wash". So much for longwinded excuses
And I think it's hysterical that you find my Book the best, cuz I hate him the most, and thought that I had changed his character to better fit what I wished he would be
Lord, I hate that man.
Katow katow katow
Book
Thanx for the input, it's greatly appreciated.

Okay, not able to check my email for a coupla days now, but I was wondering, with what is up so far, and as I am wrapping up the story in chapter 6, what do I need to address to make this fic complete.
I'm just afraid that I've gotten so far inside that I've lost some issues.
So based on the past four chapters, what needs to be resolved/addressed, or what would you like to see (I've got it outlined for the next three chapters, but I'm afraid I'm forgetting something)
