Kaylee all the way.

Inara is incredibly beautiful, so much so that it was almost painful at times looking at her. But she's sort of ... unapproachable, untouchable.

That's ineresting -- a companion who's untouchable. Fits though, don't it? Someone who let's all sorts of people touch her -- especially someone as sensitive as Inara -- would have to distance herself from the profession. Remove and protect her real self. (Which, when I think about it, is one of the major forces shaping Inara's interactions with Mal -- he's hid himself away the same way, but because of what happened in Serenity Valley; the good, believing, faithful man is somewhere in there; he's just been so badly hurt and let down that he has to hide.)

Anyways. Kaylee though. Definitely. Kaylee is just so ... well, everybody knows how Kaylee is. She's someone you could be close to.

But if I were gay, I'd have to go with the vocal majority: Wash. Wash all the way. He's just so damn cool.
