I am in the process of extracting small audio excerpts from all the Firefly episodes to use as windows desktop sounds.

I am having difficulty remembering all the classic one liners and stuff. If anyone could remember some favourite lines that I might use please remind me.

I already have:

Serenity:

Wash - Captain we got incoming alliance cruiser bearing right down on us.

Mal - ok.. looking good.

Mal - This is not my best day ever.

also have Firefly theme music as windows start-up and shut-down..

Theres plenty more I know.. I just have a bit of mental block

Don' forget, in the Train Job, about halfway through when Mal and Zoe are in the sheriff's office, Mal says:

"That sounds like the Alliance... Unite all the planets under one rule, so that everybody can be interfered-with or ignored equally."

Good for an error message, maybe.

This site has sound clips for 8 of the Firefly episodes (as well as Buffy, Angel, and a bunch of other stuff). It may help in your search.

Thanks for that. That site has some good stuff (very helpful), however I find the audio quality of all their downloads not very good (almost like they were all captured from TV broadcast).

Well, hopefully it'll inspire you to find some of the quotes they feature on the site on your own.

How do you do that? I want to make some sound bytes from the movie trailer for the same purpose, but I haven't a clue how to do it. Can you please advise?

Thanks!
Mina

I have a bunch of wavs I extracted from the trailers.

I aim to misbehave

Let's be bad guys

It's isn't safe

I'm unarmed good

and a small handful of others.

I guess I could try to zip & e-mail em if anyone wants them. Not sure how to create a torrent but I could try to host them that way as well. As a zipped folder they take are abot 7 MB. Making em available and if some wants they are more than welcome to host them. Just happy to be doin good works.

Familiarise yourself with an audio editing program (I like CoolEditPro). Select "extract audio from video" and load the trailer or any video source.
