Cross-posting a snippet of a message from the official forums:

"Anyway it was amazing enough to see them in person. Then when Joss was on stage accepting the check, he announced that Firefly was not over and that we needed to get ourselves ready for what was next (I did not get everything he said on that subject because of the loud crowd, but if anyone here was there, please fill in the blanks)."

So there you have it, straight from the mouth of Joss himself.

Early: You ever been raped, Kaylee?
Kaylee: You know, it's funny you should mention that... ever heard of the Fox network?

With the sets gone and the actors signing to other networks... the only way I can see this happening is with either made for TV movies or big screen movies... and I don't think the latter is an option due to not enough people knowing the background to make a movie an option. Hasn't someone mentioned made for TV movies before? Maybe that or a miniseries or two. That would rock! How could you do this though? I mean with the actors' contracts?

TV-movies worked for Alien Nation, why not for Firefly... :)...

*still hoping*

Do you have a link to where that snippet came from? I would like to make an official news posting for it.

So I was at the Buffy/Angel big (and last [sigh]) Posting Board Party (PBP) in L.A. over the week-end. It was my first and it was amazing. Apart from meeting cast members and listening to great music, while doing a good deed (everything went to Make-A-Wish... A $30,000 check was presented to Joss; Go Bronzers!), there were some great Firefly surprises.
First Ron Glass and Summer Glau were there and I had a chance to talk to them a little bit. They are of course lovely. Ron looked surprised that so many people recognized him; I complimented him about the character of Book and he really looked disappointed that he had to leave that character. Then Joss came over to hug him and they really seemed to have a good time. I got a great picture with both of them. Summer was not far. My God is she adorable! And sweet. She was also more than happy to sign autographs and pose for pictures and talk about River. What poise; what elegance! You can see right away that she is a ballet dancer. She is also pretty tall.

Anyway it was amazing enough to see them in person. Then when Joss was on stage accepting the check, he announced that Firefly was not over and that we needed to get ourselves ready for what was next (I did not get everything he said on that subject because of the loud crowd, but if anyone here was there, please fill in the blanks). Another highlight for me was to win Blue Sun T-Shirts at the raffle. Yellow logo over blue. Yoohoo!! They also had signed scripts which I really wanted (including "Mrs. Reynolds" and "Out of Gas" [sigh])but the silent auction went up to $125, which was well deserved but not something I could afford.

Anyway I don't mean to brag at all; just wanted to share these Firefly-related events. Everyone's spirits seemed up, which was reassuring. Joss and Ron made lots of jokes and seemed truly honored that people missed Firefly. In any event, it was nice to hear that they're not giving up and are aware that fans are out there supporting them.

I think this post was a little wishful thinking. Several of the people over at the Buffistas board were in attendance and reported nothing of the sort. Kristen even mentioned as much in the same thread as the above post. Wish it was true...but if wishes were horses....

Personally, I think the silence from Joss and Tim over the last month speaks volumes, specially given the sets being torn down, the actors moving on, etc, etc... Sorry to be a downer, but this hanging by a thread thing is getting old. Those fuckers at Fox killed Firefly. All we can do is wait for ME's revenge - might be a couple of years. All my opinion of course.

This was just posted by Kristen, who was also there. So take what Alanna said with a grain of salt.

Um...not to be difficult but I never heard Joss mention Firefly nor did anyone else I know. When he said that it wasn't over yet, most of us figured he was talking about the BtVS/Angel mythology.

In the meantime, we should not give up the fight for the last 3 eps and DVD releases. I want summer reruns, dammit!

Has YOUR mom seen Firefly, lately?
