There are no spoilers for anyone who might be hesitant to listen to the interview. In fact there is only one thing wrong that I noticed...the interviewer continually makes the mistake of calling him "Josh" Whedon, and Jewel is too nice a lady to correct him.

I noticed this too, but I think it was the guy running the radio show who was mispronouncing, not the Doctor guy who was asking Jewel the actual questions at I-Con.

Aside from that, good interview. I liked Jewel's comment about the idea for audio commentary on the Serenity DVD featuring everyone. It would be totally chaos if all nine actors and Joss were talking about the movie.

And what's this about an official Firefly con in the UK? I haven't heard anything about this. Why can't they have more cons in Canada with the cast?

The Starfury Convention 'Serenity' is at the end of April:
http://www.starfury.co.uk/

And the BDH ARE going to Canada...to Toronto:
August 26-28
Canadian National Expo
Toronto, ON
Scheduled: Nathan Fillion and Adam Baldwin

the official Universal site has tried to keep the convention information:

e.main

oh, and if you're on the West coast of Canada you might find the Sacramento convention easier to get to:

Oh, it's starting.
I was at the second or third Star Trek convention held in New York City in the mid-seventies, and just look what that all turned into. When the money people see that kind of dedication (and smell those kind of dollars) they'll greenlight all kinds of stuff.
I think at this point it's safe to say the crew of Serenity is going to go places.
"Serenity: The Next Generation" - just kidding, no, perish the thought...

I read somewhere that the DragonCon (September in Atlanta)people are already worried about the capacity (in the largest possible room) for the Serenity panel.

They are recommending getting your reserved seating ticket at least one day in advance.

This is Internet rumor so take it as you will but since I have seen 3 Serenity panels (so far) at different conventions (every single one full to absolute capacity and fire marshall warnings) I am not surprised.

Universal honchos have to be sitting back and smugly smiling while forecasting the box office receipts!

you know? if they are?
they have every right:
they believed in 'Firefly' enough to talk to Joss about making a movie,
and gave Joss enough money to make a really wonderful movie,
AND they stayed out of his hair (never complaining that Mal wasn't likeable or there were too many horses).

So I join Jewel in saying that Universal is my favorite studio ever!

I didn't understand what the interviewer said in one question: "and did it change from Space Western to Space ????"

Did anyone catch that word?

Jayne, your mouth is talkin. Might want to look into that.
