Has anyone ever had one? I want to make one but I dont know how. Isn't it just ice cream in a ball on a string attached to a stick?

Has anyone ever had one? Or Do you know how to make one?

Is 'pine okay?

Never had one. I might be wrong, but I think Joss made it up in a creative strike of awsomeness.
I'm sure that all it would take is a good mold (did I spell that right?) and a homemade icecream churn.

I'm pretty sure Joss made it up - but I think it should have more than a little bit of rough in it - like some chunks of pure ice (or lumps of something?)....

The ice planets in The Message look kinda like they might be Saturn with a ring of faux grit (if ya know what I mean) running round their middles....

If you make one, post a picture - I'd like to see what they look like . . . .

Rocky Mountain Chocolates does some fancy apples that look pretty close-

one idea/recipe :

Apple, covered in carmel, add nuts randomly, dip entire thing in white chocolate and then possibly sprinkle coconut flakes over the entire thing-

not sure if thats an actual offering on Rocky's menu but it sounds good to me

That food sounds very...well...problamatic.

Wouldn't it start to melt and drip everywhere?

Ooooooh! I know! strawberries!!! Vanilla icecream with strawberry chunks in it . . .oh and dipped in coconut or something to give it that lumpy gritty look.
Someone had better make one. Maybe that someone should be me.
I've got the ice cream churn. I just need to think of how to keep it on the string . . .perhaps the string is tied to something solid in the middle of the "planet".
Okay. I'm done babbleing. I'll brainstorm elsewhere.

I had one at I-Con! This brilliant woman named Tracy made them--very yummy!

What basically did was: She took a mint Oreo cookie, tied a string around it, and glued it in place with some sort of edible paste bakers use. Then she made a mold (which basically looked like a whiffle ball cut in half and lined with Saran Wrap), packed it with mint chocolate chip ice cream, and mooshed it together around the cookie. She had dowels with a little notch cut in them, and you tied the other end of the string in the notch so that it wouldn't slip.

They were pretty hardy--she whirled one around without disaster. I was amazed. You do have to eat them quickly, and once you get to the cookie it's a little tricky--you have to eat all the ice cream off the bottom, and only then eat the top. And you have to wash up afterwards--but it's well worth it!

I actually just made some for a Shindig this past month. I just used ricecrispie treats and they turned out pretty well and fun was had by all.

If life is what you make it I want Cheese Cake!
