OK, I actually missed "Ariel" when it was first broadcast, so I didn't see the whole original series until the DVDs came out. Does that makes me a footstool for the godly ones who saw every broadcast episode the first time around?

Personally, I think they shouldn't even release Serenity, that way we can keep the fanbase to just US... WE, The Annointed, the brilliant and perceptive, who recognized the specialness of Firefly before anyone else.

I have been a FF fan since back in the day. I get what all of you are saying about embacing any new lover of Serenity that happens to come along...However, I've got to admit that I'm a little reluctant to share my 'verse with a buncha wannabe's that show up on opening day. Who is going to believe me then, when I say "Yea, but I was there from the begining. It was me and my fellow browncoats who begged and pleaded and wept and prayed for the show, the dvd,s and ultimately the movie for which you are a johnny-come-lately." I am a shallow person I know. What can I say?

Regardless, we know we were fans before those newbies. That should be enough. If you have to prove it to everyone to maintain your own peace of mind, then there's probably some other deep-seated issue here.
