SPACED have you guys heard of that?

Oh my goodness that is the best and funniest show EVER!

Too bad it has too many copyright infringements to be released over here probably... :(

I have heard of a place where humans do battle in a ring of Jell-O.

Red Dwarf I'm aware of, but Spaced I've never heard of.
Another on my list...

And another obscurity- Innocent Blood, a hip little take on vampires.
For that matter, how about Blackula? That was a crazy 70's flick. And Scream, Blackula, Scream.
And The Night Stalker! That was cool!
And John Carpenter's Vampires, James Woods ROCKS!!
And The Vampire Effect(aka The Twins Effect)- kung fu vampire action!!!

My post seem to be very undead....

I'm not sure these qualify as obscure since nobody watches them because they aren't very good movies...

I Was a Teenage Sex Maniac
Just One of the Guys

Last night I was talking with a friend...a real live friend like in person, weird...and somehow we started complaining about Barbra Streisand...then we got to Yentl (it's a good movie, yes, but it was late at night and we were a little fuzzy). The I joked about 'Just One of the Guys' being just as good as Yentl. He laughed and we began a scene by scene comparison. Then he reminded me about Buddy. Oh my goodness, Buddy stole the movie. He was funny...wasn't he in 'I Was a Teenage Sex Maniac'? He cries, 'Yes!' Then we start talking about the little antenna that pops out of his head...sheesh we laughed, and laughed. Not good movies, but they were good for a quick laugh.

After reading that I can only say that you have justified your name.

Hey! The best part of Just One of the Guys was her brother Buddy. My god he says some funny shit in that movie. Plus, the denim jacket with the sleeves cut off and the white tshirt with the tie...priceless!

Then again, the only reason I know so much about this movie is because HBO showed it every afternoon when I was in middle school. And, I couldn't turn away!

Kaylee: "What's so damn important about being proper? It don't mean nothing out here in the black."
Simon: "It means more out here. It's all I have..."

It totally does! I'd never made that connection before. I work at a vet clinic, and we end up with blood on us a lot. Whenever it happens I have to say, "You've got red on you," but no one else has seen the movie so they don't get it. *sigh*

The past two Christmases my brother got me Bubba Ho-Tep and Shaun of the Dead. It's a good thing too, because I live in Montana and movies like that don't make it to theaters here. He keeps me in the loop.

My addition to the obscure film list is Support Your Local Sheriff, starring James Garner, Walter Brennan, and Henry Morgan. It's a western take-off that is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. It's not Mel Brooks-type of funny, it's got a drier sense of humor and James Garner just nails it.

"Well this is just plain dumb and stupid." -Joe in Support Your Local Sheriff

Let's see favorites.

Boondock Saints - I know already mentioned, but I just love it. Irishmen, Guns, & God. & some awesome shots.

Remo Williams - Only obscure to a few. 80's very cool superspy hero stuff.

The Commitments - Maybe not obscure, but certainly not appreciated by all. Very tragic, gritty & full of soul music.

Shoot or Be Shot - Don't ask me why. Maybe it's my fascination with Film. And of all people to be in such a quirky film - William Shatner.

(by the way) anybody been watching Invasion Iowa?

Swing Kids - inspiring, & tragic. Lots of great swing. A different look at the Nazi influence.

oh yeah, and The Fisher King - Robin Williams - Pure Genius

Almost forgot two favorites, thanks to my Mom

Under The Rainbow - Murder, Chevy Chase & Midgits

and Cannery Row - just an awesome movie

and 1 more "Charade" - All about Audrey!!!!
