The sword fight in The Court Jester featured Basil Rathbone and Danny Kaye, though you'll notice that Rathbone is replaced from time with a stand in...Which was actually the fencing instructor on the film. Kaye was good, so its written somewhere...I'll have to find it, but he was wild, because the performance calls for someone who doesn't know what he's doing in places. Rathbone demonstrated his fencing skills several times in other movies, and tended to be very precise. In other words, he was a little overwhelmed by Kaye, and you'll notice that the swords in that scene are a little the worse for wear afterwards.

The sword fight is my favorite scene. Followed closely by "The Black Fox" song and dance number in the forest. And, both of those followed very closely by Danny Kaye having to show the baby's birthmark to people at the beginning and end of the movie. Especially at the end. That's a bloody hoot!

Plus...Angela Landsbury was so hot in that movie. So was Glynis Johns, I mean, she was pretty hot in most of the older movies she was in, but she looked great as a brunette!

As an added bonus: I got to write the phrase Angela Landsbury was so hot!

She burps loudly and kicks at her brats, who are busily plucking the sideburns off that narcoleptic 'Roxanne'-singing guy...

Is there any movie that would not be instantly better with the addition of Reavers? Somebody wanna do Gigli?

Wow. That was pretty disgusting, huh? I blame it all on Joss (and the anti-nausea medications I'm taking: "Do not operate machinery or express yourself on the Internet"). I mean, equating Reavers with biker mamas: Where do these sick thoughts come from?

Wow, Zoid, I'm truly speechless! I totally agree with you about Nicole Kidman--she broke my heart in Moulin Rouge--in the best way! I love everything about that film.

I'm a bigger ANGEL fan than even Firefly. The first time Cordelia sees Angel (on Buffy) she says "Hello, Salty Goodness!" (also reprised in Spin the Bottle on ANGEL S4.

The thing with cinema is if you catch a film at just the right time in your life it has so much more impact on you....This was the case for me and Cyrano De Bergerac.

There are three DVD transfers. Alpha Video (DVD cover: full-colour head shot of Cyrano (for a B&W movie)) is $5, but is worth less; if possible, avoid it. The other two (DVD cover drawings, one on yellow background, other on black (double-feature)) are good transfers.
