Finding Serenity - due out on Friday

Well, heck, my essay is actually in the dang book, and I wasn't aware of this! I knew there was a reason I spend so much of my should-be-writing time surfing the Net.
Anyway, the book is great. (And I'm talking about all of it, not just my little bitty part. Although I am quite happy with the way it turned out.)
Can't wait to hear what you all think.

I'm a mild-mannered production tech at a major, metropolitan newspaper, so I have access to advance reading copies (ARCs) sent to our book reviewers before publication. I happened across Finding Serenity by accident tonight and haven't been able to put it down since.
I'm about halfway through and haven't gotten to your essay yet, Bob. Everything so far is very well written. Even if you're not a fan of non-fiction, there's a lot here for established fans, beginners, and not-yet fans to like. Kudos to you, Bob, for having your essay included and to everyone else associated with this project.

but to not make this another of my completely pointless posts, on the ob you will find a threat with quite a few people already getting their confirmation mail about the book being on its way. seems we might all win, krad is right and we might just get the book even before friday (unless of course amazon has a rigid system that insists on sticking to the date).
now, if they could "accidentally" send out the serenity novel, too... how much time machinery would have to be involved in that? *gets hammer and saw*.. what do you mean, "that wont do"? oh, right, i forgot *gets book*. here, "phsyics for dummies", all set now. i mean, how hard can it be to establish a sufficient and preferably 4-dimensional connection between two points in space time? this isn't rocket science, guys.

I ordered a copy from Amazon in December for my brother; there's been silence from Amazon till TODAY, when I got an email complaining that my credit card number's changed since I ordered it.
I think that means they're shipping it! Given that the OB has some people announcing this, too, I guess I'm adding one more voice to that.
Now I'm going to have to order a copy for ME. WHY didn't I do that before? Oh, yeah - I thought I'd been watching the movie in a few weeks by now :)
Really looks like a great book, folks - and it's the best we've got till the movie comes out - so do your Browncoat duty and order one (or at least borrow one).
