I can't wait. It's really an incredible time. Imagine if an ad for Serenity was on the front page of your favourite website and had been on and off for the past three weeks. Every newspaper had written a dozen (literally) articles about it in the run up to its release. Your friends all talking about it. Endless interviews and so forth.

It's remarkable. Now I have to hope the show matches its promise.

I really envy you brist over there. Tel me how it is and what you think of it. I finally saw the downloaded screener but I'll reserve comments for a proper discussion. I know two folks over there who will be sending me DVD's of the episodes as they air since I know we won't see it here at leats until summertime.

But yeah, a really great time to be a Who fan!

1st episode shown, love it - it`s going to grow on people, but this is a new start, no transformation into the new doctor, he just appears the way he is, The task of explaining the Tardis is done well, with a sort of Q&A with Rose, which is really cool. The New Doctor is hip & cool, slightly nutty, and maybe a little lonely (he needs a companion)

I thought it was great too. Better than I expected, including the effects, best I've ever seen for a british TV production. Ecccleston is very good, even Billy Piper is pretty good too. And it has a great sense of humour too.

Very, very good. This was better than I had expected - probably an overdose of McCoys Doctor repeats on the other side. Good acting, pretty good story, funny, fast moving, actually pretty good effects given the budget I thought. Eccleston was great and I have to admit Bilie Piper was actually quite good. Yep the Doctor is back. Long may it continue, well the next twelve weeks anyway.

Yes, it was very good. It feels quite different to the old Doctor Whos that I've seen repeats of but I think I prefer it. We all laughed when

Repeats! You can`t beat cowering behind a sofa when the show was aired for the very 1st time

actually, UKGold has got a lot to do with it`s revival I reckon, the BBC could still see how popular it was in it`s previous incarnations, and whilst the center console is different to that of old, the feeling of space in the control room of the TARDIS is wonderful.

I also watched the BBC3 proram afterwards, where they were talking about the series and 8 year old kids watching the original shows from behind the sofa ... now some of those 8 year old kids are in their 30`s and still hide behind the sofa, but of course that may just be beause that`s the coolest place to store the beer (within reach of course)

We`ll have to wait to see what the international viewers make of it - now all we want is an update to Blakes7 - can you imagine all the work they could do to that splendid show?

Yes, indeed, the man is back again. Although this was a pilot in several senses, it moved a very quick pace, got the plot in and introduced us to all the essentials without wordy introductions or information overload (for example, he didn't say he was a Time Lord, or talk about regenerations).

It also was funny, albeit some sequences aimed at a younger audience. The special effects varied from great to average (CGI can't be done on the cheap, it always, always, always looks bad).

But most of all, I think lots of children will be tuning in next week and the week after, which is what it's really all about. Long live Doctor Who!

Well, it's back.
Loved it. It hit the wrong note once or twice (wheely bin burping) but for the most part was amazing - exciting, original and true to the spirit of classic Who. The ninth Doctor is right up there with Tom Baker, thanks to the witty scripting and Eccleston's inspired performance ("What are you doing here?" "I live here." "What do you do that for?")Hi-larious.
What's more, I think this was the warm-up, introducing us to the concept and characters. Now that that's done it can hit it's stride, perhaps relax the pace slightly, and deliver even more terrific Time-lord terror. Can't wait for next week.

re-watchd the recording - there`s one point when he is in Rose`s place looking around, he stops by a mirror, and admires himself - Don`t read the spoilers if you think it may effect your viewing
