Ooooh, I'd like to see some, too! I only saw the first ep a year ago and don't have HBO, but I'm very interested in the show.

UnchartedOutlaw: The show is amazing. If you really wanted you could download the entire first season thru a bit-torrent file. I would post a link after a quick search but I think that might be frowned upon here. The first season is about 4 gigs.

Quote:{sarc}But, golly, that would be wroooong.{/sarc} You could also rent it from Lackluster (er, sorry, I meant to type "Blockbuster") or NetFlix, if'n ya can't find the torrent or a friend with TiVo. That's how I got hooked - watched the first couple DVDs' worth of episodes from Blockbuster and finally had to buy it. Is worth it; I loves it.

If you enjoy Deadwood, you need to know this:
Folks, please give me a moment of your time. If this has been posted elsewhere, forgive me. I'm passing on information from another HBO Board. Don Logan and other fans have worked tirelessly, brainstorming a means for us to get the word out - we're on a mission; a mission about family and honor, about the time-honored sanctity of a Man's Word Being Worth Something.
We're posting information about Deadwood's abrupt cancellation and our attempt to at least make our feelings known via an ad in Variety this coming week. Bill Maher's devoted following has helped HBO attain the visionary success and prestige the channel has achieved over the years - imagine if it were to have ended abruptly after only one or two seasons. We hope our effort may stem the rising perception that HBO no longer cares about its viewers or reputation as a provider of quality entertainment to a more enlightened and discriminating audience.
We beg anyone - and everyone - here to assist us as much as you can in our efforts, especially those of you who count yourselves as Deadwood fans, too. No amount is too small.
Here's the ad, as posted over in the Deadwood Members Created Threads link.
Please help us .... www.savedeadwood.net
Respectfully submitted,
St.Julien
This is the ad we will place in the Hollywood and New York editions of Daily Variety (a/k/a the "National" Edition)
An Open Letter To HBO
As HBO subscribers, we are shocked and dismayed to read recent press accounts reporting that HBO has thus far not picked up its options on the contracts of the cast for a fourth season of "Deadwood".
For many years, HBO has been without peer as the network of choice for discerning viewers seeking literate, high quality original programming.
During the two seasons which have aired to date, "Deadwood" has upheld that proud tradition. Its ratings, critical acclaim, and its Emmy and Peabody awards attest to the artistry and craftsmanship evident in each highly anticipated episode.
As far back as January it was reported that negotiations for a fourth season of Deadwood were underway. Just a few weeks ago, the series creator, David Milch stated in several interviews that he envisioned a four-year arc for the series. To receive the news of "Deadwood"'s demise only after production of the third season had been completed is very disturbing.
In our opinion, if it fails to allow "Deadwood" to run its natural course, HBO not only deprives millions of viewers around the world the opportunity to see "Deadwood" to its intended conclusion, but creates a serious disincentive to viewer investment in future series that could meet the same fate, jeopardizing the hard-won good will built up among subscribers for many years.
We implore you to act quickly to renew "Deadwood" for a fourth season with the original cast intact.
Sincerely,
Name
