Opening vocals in "Heart of Gold"

Here in NZ, Firefly hasn't finished its run, and tonight HoG just aired.

Please help me! I've just finished watching Heart of Gold, and am wondering about the vocals in the opening scenes at the whorehouse. They sound very Indic, possibly Hindi, rather than Chinese. Does anybody know what language, if any, those vocals were?
