ok we have some figures, its beating Oppenheimer by a lot but its only somewhat ahead of that Superman reboot which got mixed reviews...its moving a bit like Jurassic World Rebirth was, even ahead of it but Jurassic 'Dinosaurs' are popular with kids, the Dinosaurs had a very strong overseas and strong long run in the seats
currently beats Oppenheimer but Oppenheimer had good staying power and its not beating Barbie or Mario, Despicable Me 4, Inside Out 2, A Minecraft Movie, Ironman 3 not anywhere near these movie earnings

Did you see anything saying specifically that it's not doing well overseas?
Otherwise, I don't think it's lagging with that $164 Million.
Sometimes on big movies like this they show some of the updates through the week, but not all of them.
Opening weekend internationally was $139.6 million.
So it did get a $24 Million addition somewhere. That could be up to date as of Thursday, but I think it seems pretty unlikely. Maybe it was the IMAX money they earned through Thursday, or everything but the IMAX money? I don't know when it was added or where it came from.
If a big movie is doing healthy overseas, it will gross roughly the same amount it made 1st weekend by the end of the 2nd weekend, so if it's not hurting overseas we'll have about another $140 Million international by Monday morning, or around $280 Million in total.

Moana could be artificially high in NZ I'm not sure but culturally they are almost a very similar same-ish Native Americas Samoan Hawaii people. A unique mix in NZ, a mix of WASP and Scottish with these Kiwi Maori Pacific island people. Even if the cartoom animation movie features a fictional Polynesian language I think New Zealand would appreciate that cultural diversity reflecting heritage of the Pacific Islands.
European cinema I believe was on a downward trend in general, it falls with recessions, Merkel distrubs Europe economically opening the door to muzzie invaders, I believe in general European cinema ticket seats are down 5-10% but maybe there is some 'balance' as prices have increased...I think there is a general feeling of public uncertainty with sanctions and actual war
Germany, the British, French markets used to be big guys but not anymore
European markets are showing slow growth or overall decline, it was going down in 2015 maybe 2016 but especially down after Covid. Hollywood and the US market in general is down from the peak years.
The Japan market is a strange one, they tend to be slow to translate pictures or slow to have movies exported to their cinemas. The Japanese, for their population size in cinema seats they dont seem to sell that big, maybe they are over worked, maybe they go to karaoke bars or watch cartoons or play too many video games at home
The Japanese demographic is also rapidly aging with people having fewer kids.
Italy, Spain and Poland have grown, there is a rise in other markets China, Brazil, India, Vietnam etc
Australia and New Zealand are smaller markets
Production costs?
if budgets were kept low, Hollywood would not need to depend so much on overseas earnings
