Instead of worrying I went online for symptoms of canine heart failure. Doggie didn't check many of the boxes, so altho I know for a fact she has a heart murmur, it's not critical.
Her incision looks looks good and the prolapse and swelling has gone down, and WARNING, TMI: she's peeing and pooping OK, at this point it looks mostly like anxiety. We were paying attention to her and petting her when she whined and shivered, do we were unintentionally rewarding her for acting thst way. So the next time she tried to climb onto hubby's lap he kind of dumped her off and said “No" and after a few repeats she's not behaving so anxiously. She also took me for a BRISK walk so if she's exercise intolerant it sure doesn't show!
But she still needs her meds. Just one more dose tonight and that'll be it.

Sounds like she's getting over her anxiety. The surgery I am sure caused it as that is would be very frightening to someone who can't ask questions of the doctor.

SIX, euthanasia has come a long way since the days of taking your dog out back with a rifle. The last time I had to euthanize a pet, they allowed me to be there, injected a sedative, and while she was purring under my hands gave her a jolt of potassium to stop her heart. We have to live with the memory, but pets have no idea what's coming and aren't scared.
I've had to mercy kill a couple of that cat's victims tho. Fortunately hubby had a hand ax that I could use. Eeew, but necessary. (Still, eeew!)
And at this point, I BETTER have a mature outlook! I would hope these gray hairs have gotten me SOMETHING!
Maturity... something to look forward to!

Hehe... I remember Axle the bull terrier pulling my mom all over the place. He didn't get a lot of exercise if I wasn't around.

My dad gave me a pretty great idea when he saw the bathroom and I've kinda been half-assing that work today.
I'm not sure if any of the pictures showed it at all or even if I mentioned it yet, but because of how the vanity and basin were already set, there was a gap between the wall and the right side of the basin. I had addressed this underneath the basin by framing the vanity out to the wall with that painted cabinet trim, but just kind of hoped nobody would notice that there was the gap up above because I didn't have a good answer for it.
Likely because of how great the whole room looked compared to the truck stop bathroom he'd occasionally be forced to use from time to time over the last 14 years before he went on his one-man vacation, this was the only thing that he did notice, of course.
But, unlike most people who offer complaints without any solutions, he had a good one for me. First and only suggestion right after the criticism, and it was a banger...
He asked me if I had any more of that cabinet trim and if I could just frame that gap out...
Yes. Yes, I do believe that I can...
And it's funny because I knew I had that trim, and I remember thinking about that and even putting some pieces up there, but for some reason I'd just pushed that idea aside because I didn't like it at the time and it never came up again until Dad suggested it.
Maybe when I was thinking about doing that, the wall still hadn't been painted. I know that the cabinets weren't up yet, but this would have been all the way back when the walls were a gross off-white and I was making the trim for the vanity that I had just finished painting. Perhaps with that gross, nicotine (and "other") stained wall, I wasn't able to really visualize it at the time.
I've got a pretty darn good imagination and I'm able to visualize a lot of this stuff long before it actually gets done. But you just have blind spots sometimes. For whatever reason, I felt that idea was so bad at the time I was holding scrap pieces up there that I'd completely purged it from my memory banks and I didn't put a pin in it until the job was done like I should have.

Goddamn am I happy I found my knockoff Dremmel out in the garage a few weeks ago, or I don't even want to think about the solution I'd have come up with to make it fit toward the front where it wasn't gonna fit.
Even rounded off the top of the small back piece, and now that I'm looking at the front I think I'm going to do it there as well.
And somewhere in the midst of all of this, I managed to finally wrap up the electric in that room once and for all. Lots of small annoyances with that, just like everything else that Uncle Bob did, but I finally got the switch and outlet in there FIRMLY and sticking out far enough. Nothing some extra nuts and a bit of trial and error couldn't fix.
Tested everything with my tester and it all works exactly as designed. The GFCI will trip for any problem with any single bit of electric in that room and shut it all down. Pay a few more bucks for one of those testers like I did and it's got a button on it that you can press while it's plugged into any outlet and it will trip the GFCI if the circuit is protected. With the wall switch off, the only thing that is powered in the room is the GFCI outlet. With the wall switch on but the switch on the medicine cabinet off, both outlets are hot and protected by the GFCI. If both switches are on, both outlets and the vanity fixture are h

Yeah, SIX. I think a darker colour would work. A wood tone would be good to my eye.
