Thank you, Knibblet!

* The Real Me wonders what he is going to do with body paint. He shrugs, and applies some to his face. Now The Real Me has a blue face. *

Actually, Needleseye, I know many poems. For instance... uh, let's see...

There once was a man from Nantucket...

No, wait, not that one...

* The Real Me becomes lost in thought. *

Campfire songs anyone?

*running her fingers thru her beloved’s hair she begins singing a soft slow song from her camping days*

mmm, I want to linger
mmm, a little longer
mmm, a little longer here with you

mmm, it’s such a perfect night
mmm, it doesn’t seem quite right
mmm, that this should be my last with you

mmm, and as the years go by
mmm, I’ll think of you and sigh
mmm, this is goodnight and not goodbye

mmm, I want to linger
mmm, a little longer
mmm, a little longer here with you

mmm, and come September
mmm, I will remember
mmm, our camping days and friendships true

mmm, I want to linger
mmm, a little longer
mmm, a little longer here with you

what's next? Kookabura? Sunshine Mt.? Tongo? 'Boy and Girl in a Canoe' is always fun, anyone? Perhaps 'Flicker" is more appropriate.

I don't know if this is a campfire song, but my sisters and I used to sing a song called "The other day" (ok,we *still* sing it...)

Each line is sung by one person, then everyone else sings the line back. Then, everyone sings the verse together.

Ready?

I'll start, you echo.

The Other day (echo)
I saw a bear (echo)
A great big bear (echo)
Oh Way up there (echo)

All:
The other day I saw a bear,
A great big bear oh way up there!

He looked at me (echo)
I looked at him (echo)
He sized up me (echo)
I sized up him (echo)

All:
He looked at me I looked at him
He sized up me I sized up him

He says to me (echo)
Why don't you run? (echo)
I see you ain't (echo)
Got any gun (echo)

All:
He says to me why don't you run?
I see you ain't got any gun

I says to him (echo)
"That's a good idea! (echo)
So C'mon feet! (echo)
Let's up and flee! (echo)

All:
I says to him that's a good idea!
So c'mon feet let's up and flee.

And so I ran (echo)
Away from there (echo)
But right behind (echo)
Me was that bear! (echo)

All:
And so I ran away from there
But right behind me was that bear!

And up ahead (echo)
there was a tree (echo)
A great big tree (echo)
Oh glory be! (echo)

All:
And up ahead there was a tree,
a great big tree oh glory be!

The lowest branch (echo)
was ten feet high (echo)
It reached way up (echo)
into the sky! (echo)

All:
The lowest branch was ten feet high
It reached way up into the sky!

And so I jumped (echo)
into the air (echo)
but I missed that branch (echo)
oh way up there! (echo)

All:
And so I jumped into the air
But I missed that branch oh way up there!

Now don't you fret (echo)
and don't you frown (echo)
'Cause I caught that branch (echo)
on the way back down! (echo)

All:
Now don't you fret and don't you frown!
'Cause I caught that branch on the way back down!

NOTE: this last verse starts out quite slowly then speeds up to normal speed on the last line
That's all there is (echo)
There ain't no more (echo)
Unless I see (echo)
That bear once more (echo)

All (slowly and ending with a grand flourish):
That's all there is there ain't no more!
Unless I see that bear once more!

My! That was fun! Well, time to go off and play some games.

*jake7 wanders off thinking about all the fun games she'll play - Whack-a-Fox-Exec, Skee ball, and various video games*

We alway sang the red wagon song...

(whisper)
You can't ride in my red wagon
The wheels are broken
and the axle's saggin'

Same song same verse
A little bit louder
and a little bit worse!

Repeating these same lines until you nearly lose your voice or annoy the camp counselers, which ever happens first.

hi.

Ah yes *knowingly smiles* nice to meet you and yours.

Great songs! I've never heard that Big Bear song.
*Gives and admiring glance to SereniTree*
I'm quite fond of "Row, row,row your boat" however...

...I have another song I'd love to sing.

*Suddenly distracted, looks in the direction of the kilted fellow finishing off a rather large burger*
BUT before I do, I'm a bit hungry. Can't sing well on an empty stomach. What variety of animal flesh is that? *pointing at burgers* Might I have one?
Not much around here but crab and fish all the time, y'know with an occassional sailor.

So, who might be the captain of that lovely vessel?

I'd just like to point out that the ship is still in "Port-O-Let" mode! But you know, to each her own.

Nice attempt at misdirection.
*Needleseye wonders* The ship must be terrible important regardless of "mode", imagine the beach party without the conveinence.

*While waiting for the Captain to speak up, begins to consider a Rat burger for her next meal. Most likely tastes like chicken.*

I am so glad to be back at the beach party.
I need a nice distraction from THE reality (even more so than usual). In fact, it almost feels like we might be here an Rukus for a long time to come. It can't get any better than a nice, mellow party, lots of food, and of coure the most kick ass virtual floating tree ship crew in this 'verse or any other.

*Quickly shovels a spoonful (of the most decadent choclate fudge) ice cream in her mouth before she gets all teary eyed and sentimental*

Mmmmmmmmmmm......shnyone elshe wahnt shome?
