hello every body i was just wondering how much you would pay for a made to measure mal costume firstly in total and secondly indavidualy

the compleat costume

trousers
long coat
shirt
braces

how much would you pay to dress as the captain dresses?

but realy my gf is a very good seemstress and shes makeing mals costume we would like to sell them if there are fans that will buy them and we trying to work out a faire price

heya hun, best thing to do to figure out a fair price is to look at the cost of supplies, and the number of hours spent on it. Make sure both your time and supplies are paid for.

that being said, it also helps to see an example of the seamstress work before deciding how much you are willing to pay.
All that being said I think a reasonable price for a Mal costume would be $150-$200, because a resourceful browncoat can always hit resale shops, thrift stores and army surplus stores to throw a costume together with a similar look to Mal's.

i hear what your saying but thats the thing my girl friend is very good at sewing and costumes but doesnt do it full time yes it price has to cover costs but stuff takes time i understand you saying about fans can go out to thrift stors and army surplus stores etc but if you look at other threads people are showing links to site were there are coats for $200 you can probably go out and get a passable costume for $200-$250 but this is a made to measure replica of mals costume that wont smell of mold like half the stuff you get from army surpluss stores the coat is fully lined and can be worn as a proper coat and it wont just be one that kinda fits but will actualy look like its made for you
i mean thers a site that makes replicas of coats from films and will be chargeing around the $600 mark which is frankly rediculas even if the coat is very very good so we are asking you guys the fans how much you would reasonably want to pay for a fitted costume

It all depends on how complete it is and the quality you're talking, but I'd be willing to speand 4-500 for a costume with boots. Without boots probably closer to 3-400. But it all depends again and yeah you could throw together a passable Mal costume for under $200 but then you ge tinto, how exact do you want to get right?
