Norway is killing it. They are by far the leader of the pack right now. Total medal count for them is 11, which is tied with Italy and 4 more than both Japan and the US. But Norway has 6 golds, which is double 2nd, 3rd and 4th place with only 3. US, Japan and Italy only have 2 golds each. Canada, China and Russia have zero golds. It's possible from what I'm seeing that Russia hasn't even gotten a medal at all.

Were they banned from the Olympics again? I pay so little attention to them that it wouldn't surprise me that they were and I didn't know about it until now. It's a better explanation than Russia not even winning a single bronze by now.

Russia itself is banned from the Olympics because of Ukraine. Their athletes can compete but must call themselves "Individual Neutral Athletes" which means no mentioning of their home country at all. No flags, anthem. Nada. And so far they aren't on the board at all.

I know. Norway is just amazing this time around.

We have got to get a gold. Gotta bring home something outside of last.

I hate to say this but my own country is so suxxing at these Olympics. Not one gold medal so far. We have a grand total of 8 and the US has 17.

America's in (a far behind the leader of the pack) 3rd place, Canada's in 17th place, and China is in 18th place.

So you're still ahead of China at least.

Our politics did this, Brenda. With Covid rules and all the other BS in the last 5 years, we've probably ruined both of our chances of coming out on top for another decade or more at least.

I'm just glad to see that China has fallen off so much too and is going to suffer a brutal beatdown as well, since they are just as responsible for Covid as our own bad leadership was.

As of yesterday Canada finally has 1 gold medal. That is something of a relief. It was in moguls skiing.

Yeah, I guess so SIX.

So far the athletes hope this gold will break the curse for Canada and we'll come home with more.

Feels good to know we got a gold. Now, if we can get out of the single digits before it is over it will be really great.

Yeah, China is taking a beating. But then everyone is taking a beating from Norway. They have something like 20 odd medals total.

even Australia and Brazil got the medals, Australia still has a little now in the states of New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and Brazil maybe I hear has one mountain way down in its South that gets snow.

Canada now has 2 gold and has entered into double digits. 11 medals.

Canada has 3 gold and now at 14 medals.

Norway has 33 medals all total. Italy is behind them with 26 medals in total.

Next day or so our men's hockey team go up against our rivals. dun, dun, dun. The US.
