That's only going to matter if the economy doesn't improve.
Trump is all in on the economy now, so if that's still a sticking point by midterms it might end up being an issue if all of the reversions in voting that are going to take place after the multiple SCOTUS rulings in June aren't nearly as sweeping as they are assumed to be right now.
But then again, are they really going to be an issue?
I don't need to read the article to know that these young men aren't going to vote Democrat under any circumstances. They've already drawn a very hard line in the sand against the party that actively works to undermine their wellbeing and future.
I could see momentum behind putting somebody else in there for sure though.
I have zero desire to see JD Vance be Trump's predecessor, and I do expect them to have an honest and genuine primary process before this term is over.
Personally, I have always been a Ron DeSantis fan, and I likely always will be one.
He's always been my pick for Trump's successor.
I love how Vance can handle the media, but I also know that if he can handle them that good off the cuff then that he is just as capable of lying to my face and telling me what I want to hear even if he means none of it. I like how he makes a show of his power, especially internationally, but I feel his concrete ceiling is 2nd in command.
That's not an insult. In my mind, that's an extremely enviable position. It is the closest to leader that I'd ever care to be myself.
I want Ron DeSantis.
Most people probably already forgot what Covid was like, let alone any of the real particulars of the day to day 5 years ago.
I'll never forget how Ron was one of the single voices of reason out there when it came to how we should be handling the Covid response.
He was one of the very few who showed any real courage and any real ability to lead. And in retrospect, especially as more truth slowly gets revealed about the behind the scenes discussions and decisions that had been made, he was one of the only people to be consistently right about every aspect of the whole thing.
I just kind of wish he didn't shit on Trump the way he did and run against him when he shouldn't have. He was 43 years old with plenty of time left to wait his turn. I'm sure he has a lot of regrets of his own about that too. I think he let some of that get to his own head and he got a little too big for his britches there for a minute. There might not be any coming back from that either. People forget. How many months has it been since you even heard anybody you know mention Ron DeSantis?
I think we'd all be better off right now if it were DeSantis sitting in the VP seat and JD Vance was warming up for a possible VP run with President DeSantis in 2028.
