Chief U.S. District Judge Brenda Sannes, an Obama appointee, decided to "deviate from the sentencing guidelines" that were recommended by the Trump administration's DOJ, which wanted two years for defendant Troy Kelly after he pleaded guilty to one count of making threats against the president of the United States. Sannes instead sentenced him to six months and ordered Kelly to participate in a mental health treatment program with three years of supervised release. His lawyer wanted no jail time.

"At 19 years old, Troy had experienced more than his share of traumatic experiences and dysfunctional family dynamics," wrote attorney Timothy Austin in a Dec. 1 sentencing memorandum, seemingly blaming social media for his client's mindset.

Hell... I've often thought that this site has been run on a government server for a decade or more now. Maybe it was back when I signed up. Maybe it always was.

Maybe we're being studied? Why would anybody put that thought past anyone? You kidding me? With the post history here spanning since not long after 9.11 and the amount of data they could feed into their A.I. machines and the psychological profiling they could do, just at this one single website alone? I would think that our little remaining clique here, though small in number, might be equally as interesting to anyone really paying attention as the days of hundreds or even thousands of us were posting here was.

Maybe the rest of you here are all agents and I'm just like that dude from that old fake reality show where the one kid was real and everyone else is just an actor. I don't believe that, and to be completely honest if I did believe it I'm sure I'd behave my own self quite a bit differently than I do.

But at the same time I have no reason not to believe that it couldn't be a possibility. Nor will I ever be provided with any proof that this wasn't the case all along.

And that's all moot anyhow. I'm sure every bit and byte ever posted here is already backed up somewhere, even if we wouldn't ever see anything that got a good archive after this site shuts down. Maybe several somewheres. No people even necessary to go through all of that and transcribe every single thing we've ever posted here into their astonishingly easy to search databases, along with a nice list of all the IP addresses we've ever posted from and the email address we signed up with. Maybe even a photo or hundreds which we thoughtlessly uploaded not realizing they would easily be cross-referencable with archives of places like myspace or the early days of facebook, where in my case, they could know that I was friends with Ron Paul if they didn't already, along with at least one family member which would tie me all right up in that web of 6-degrees-to-Kevin-Bacon that most of us have probably talked ourselves into believing we're not a part of years ago.

Even my Grandma, who retired in the age of the dawn of AS400 machines and dumb terminals burning your retinas with nothing but BRIGHT GREEN was a part of that web even though she never touched a computer one single time after she retired until she passed.

Her likeness has been digitized. From my brother's wedding pictures being online alone, I don't even have to wonder if any siblings or cousins or nieces or nephews uploaded any family photos taken with her in them. She spoke on the phone with live people and with robots, with many of those conversations being told first and foremost that the conversations were being recorded in the name of "customer service". And even though she would have literally died before sending in her DNA to a any ancestory or medical site, she's had enough people in her extended family do so to know at least enough enough about it to pin a bunch of murders on her if she were one of the women from Arsenic and Old Lace. We all do. Or at least they tell us we do...

Whatever.

The point is... All of those places got sold now to corporations that are under no legal compulsion to honor any of the original privacy contracts you agreed to when you sent that stuff in. They threw that shit in the trash and burned it on day one. The companies were dying... maybe even as planned. Then the billionaires came in and bought those companies. They didn't give a shit about the companies and dissolved them. They wanted legal ownership of all that sweet, sweet biometric data. And now they have it. What are they going to do with it?

Who knows? I wouldn't beat yourself up thinking about it. Nothing you could ever do about it anyway even if you found out.

But man... couple all of that together with a general psyche profile from 20 years of posting data all catalogued
