I'm assuming you already posted this somewhere else, Jaynez, but Demon Slayer is now at $635 Million, beating Superman (2025) by just shy of $20 Million as of Friday's box office.

It only made around $600k on Friday, so it's probably winding down to the end now, but it has now officially beaten the box office of every Marvel/DC comic book movie released in 2025.

Wow that news was big and we knew it was going to happen
and its been a terrible year for movies in the West when Hollywood can normally be so dominant, sometimes British or Aussie films would step up as Hollywood stumbles but there's almost nothing, the nu-Mad Max 'Furiosa' really struggled the days of big production like Master and Commander are over.
Japan with its cartoons is winning, SKorea tv or K-Pop and the China movies
some Spanish tv/movies or Germany movies are doing ok but those were never giant hits compared to the big studios of the world

The comic thing and Hollywood seems kinda dead for now

$107 per share is far too expensive for Disney.

They may have just seen a 10% dip, but they're still up $30 per share from where they were 18 months ago.

Ask yourself how that is even possible. What has Disney put out anywhere in that time that would increase their value to shareholders?

Their park revenue, which Second always says is their big winner, was only increased over last year because of the massive price hikes. Park attendance was at record lows. How long can they keep raising prices to cover their asses for all the other mistakes they're making?

SPOILER ALERT (FOR DISNEY): Getting people to stop doing something they enjoyed doing is the US Government's stated reason for doing things like raising prices to insane heights on cigarettes.

This works for the US Government because they still get the same amount of tax revenue from a much smaller base of people. And even if it backfired on them and everybody quit, they can always just print more money.

Disney doesn't have money printers, they don't have the ability to tax citizens and they don't have an addictive product.

But to play devil's advocate here, I can see a good reason why Disney was raising their rates.

It seemed like black people were involved in a brawl at one of their parks twice per week for a year or two there. Not very magical.

Raise the prices and keep the rifraf out. Don't bother me none. I was never going to go there myself, and if a bunch of stupid rich white people want to waste their money, who am I to judge?

Heh. Which one? The one he killed originally, or is this a new one? Hee hee... that morbid fact always makes me giggle.

ANYWAYS...!

To get all spoilery, can you (anyone) tell me what the whole CIVIL WAR story-arc is all about? I don't have the time, patience, or motivation to read the issues myself. (Although, the first two issues of Punisher: War Journal by Matt Fraction are excellent.)
