This past Sunday I wished Marines Happy Birthday IRL, but forgot to here.

Next year is the 245th Birthday, right after Trump's re-election.

All this past week I had really planned to post in this thread, on Thursday or even Wednesday night.
I've been looking for a truck to buy since June-ish. Suddenly I had a short opportunity to buy a truck for a good deal, and I did on 10 November.
So, I forgot to post here, plus other things, but I got myself a sweet Birthday present.

Fake News declares that today, 18 October is 10 November.
I heard Fox News say that VP Vance was celebrating with Marines at Camp Pendleton, because today was the Birthday of Marines.
I found this reported in several outlets.
I only found one which explains correctly: Pendleton was the site of demonstration and celebration of combined Birthdays of Navy (last Monday) and Marine Corps (10 Nov 1775).

As many know, Veteran's Day is the day before The Marine's Birthday.
The last draft call was in December 1972. About 53 years ago.
Every member of The Armed Services since then has been a volunteer.
So any Veteran you meet who is younger than 71 was never drafted - they were a volunteer to Serve the Nation.
Once in Service, the difference between a Veteran and a KIA to Memorialize is essentially a roll of the dice. Every Veteran knew that falling in Combat was a possibility. But they all volunteered to Serve.
Something to keep in mind.
