I guess the RIFs had to wait a week, for some reason. They started on Friday, including about 1,500 from DHSS.
I still don't know why I'm not hearing anybody talking about finally defunding and firing Joseph Boasberg, and his entire courtroom and offices.
Trump should also defund and fire the National Women's Soccer Team. As well as any other federally funded group that kneels for the flag or The National Anthem.

Saw a headline where The Trump has said that on Friday they will release a list of Libtard Programs to be defunded during Shumer Shutdown.
Let's see. GOP wants to reduce taxes, as always. By reducing spending, as always. At the same time, balance the Federal Budget, as they almost always pledge to do.
Libtards in the Senate do not want to curtail excessive Pork spending, so they shut down the Government, to prevent reduction of spending.
So GOP is now reducing spending by eliminating wasteful Libtard Government Pork Programs, Pet Projects, policies, and Deep State Deadwood payrolls.
It seems reasonable that, once The Trump has trimmed 3 or 4 Trillion from the bloated budget, they might consider negotiating with Libtards to waste more Pork Dollars on Illegal Alien Invaders.

The problem is, at least so far, he hasn't done that. Not on paper anyhow.
We'll see how the tariffs and all of the other changes he's making pan out in the mid-term and long-term, but short term this is not what Trump did. Despite all of those DOGE savings, all the firings, and me losing my medical care I need to live and that I've had since 2015, Trump has actually added $2 Trillion to the deficit over the next 10 years, and has raised the Military Spending DRAMATICALLY over that time.
Meanwhile, I won't get the insulin I need to live anymore so we can make more bullets and bombs and blow more shit up.
I stopped working largely because, quite frankly, I slept a lot better at night when I figured out that I could live life on the cheap enough that I didn't need to have any of my work translated into Federal Taxes that fund all sorts of things I think are unconscionable, such as shamelessly murdering millions of babies as well as starting wars all over the world for a bunch of rich-beyond-reason men who don't give a single fuck about any one of us.
Now... Trump, professional-cock-sucker Mike Johnson and the Republicans are going to force me to go back to work for them to fund the war machine, because somewhere along the way somebody stole my soul and made me a fucking product. I guess no matter how hard we try otherwise, they'll always get us in the end one way or another.
The long and short of it... If I want to live, I have to play by their rules now.

I'll be the first to admit that I've made 3 lifetimes worth of mistakes with the drinking and the drugs and what not, but thought I was doing most things right and I didn't ever go out of my way or take any pleasure in antagonizing anyone or ruining anyone's day... But in the end, I became everything 25 year old me hated regardless. Just another fuckin' brick in the wall.
I really envy my Grams. Not the last 10 or so years where she didn't do much but sit around watching news all day, and certainly not the last 2 when she started forgetting everything she said 5 minutes after she said it...
But I remember the day she resigned herself to losing her independence. It wasn't too long after her Final Car broke down and went to the scrap yard. Up until that point she drove everywhere. She'd plot out 4 grocery stores in a single run because she'd gone through the papers and knew where all the sales were and had her coupons cut... She even took a long trip to her Church every Sunday after it moved a few cities over and she wouldn't switch to a different local church. And until she died she gave those motherfuckers 10% of her Social Security checks and my grandpa's survivors pension because that was her duty. Hey... if she wanted to spent all that time cutting out all those coupons and driving all over the city for groceries just so she could keep giving that money to the church without going broke herself, more power to her. That was her choice.
But after the car died, she had my aunt's car and she had my aunt. And it went on that way for a couple of years, with my aunt gradually doing more and more of the driving until one day that became the only way Grams got around anymore. The end of her 7+ decade long streak of Independence became a finality when, despite all of my pushing, she would not go to the DMV to renew her drivers license and she let it expire... she never drove again.
And she was never the same after that...
But she was in her late 70's at that point. I mean... what a run. Grew up at the tail end and the aftermath of the Great Depression and still mended socks into her mid 80's. Had that house paid for decades before she passed and always left the door open for any of her children or siblings or her children's children whenever they needed a leg up. She was never alone. There was always at least one other person living with her among a rotating cast after my grandpa passed away.
She was always on the heavy side, but she ate a lot of nutritional food and was never sick. She was the best cook I ever knew in my life and the 5 years I lived there I ate like a King. She never took pills for anything until the day she died, shortly after her 90th birthday.
I always kind of thought that was the future I'd made for myself. I think I kind of subconsciously molded myself after her and her independence, and her own ability to live off of barely nothing and never bitch about it.
But that's all gone now.
People are getting sick too young these days. I hope they figure out why and how to stop it. And I really hope that cynical me isn't right and that it wasn't all by design...
