I flew to Chicago many years ago with some business associates. We left Fort Lauderdale wearing no warm outer wear, just suits and ties. As we approached the airport the pilot announced the local temperature ... zero! With the wind chill it was minus 25. We froze our asses off for two days, but the great steaks and great pizza made it a great trip.

Awesome city, at least as I experienced it. Flew in, and the airport greeters were friendly and cordial. They had a clear pride in their city ,and it showed. Put me on the right train to my hotel on Michigan Ave. Saw the Field Museum ( my main objective ) Shedd Aquarium, and Navy Pier. A taste of China Town and the swap meet, and man... what a glorious city. Real folks, real proud , but none of the cocky bullshit that comes w/ NYC. Sad that it's suffering through such chaos.
