Parliament might not be able to make the Murdochs appear before the investigation committee, but as naturalized citizens, I'm betting the U.S. Congress could.

I'm guessing that a lot of the governmental outrage on both sides of the pond is due to Murdoch's companies usurping what they consider a government's prerogative - illegal wiretapping.

You're probably right, which is all the more reason to push this to the fore, so that *MAYBE* we can force the issue before the courts and push them to rule on whether ANYONE has such a right in the first place.
