Got my shiny new Entertainment Weekly today and there is another shoutout to Serenity flans in the mail section.
Sci of Relief
In response to "The Last Good-Bye" about the end of an era with Star Wars and Star Trek, I have a suggestion for sci-fi-hungry fans: Joss Whedon's Serenity. While there can be no replacement for the big two, I believe Serenity, based on the cut-way-to-short television series Firefly, is a worthy successor.

Step up and identify yourself, Justin. Good work!
Keep the letters pouring in all you flans. They seem to keep publishing them. That is two in three weeks if I am not mistaken.

Hey, that was me. Sidenote: I'm actually from Herrin, IL; that was a typo.
But anyways, I'm happy to be doing my part.

Good for you, Justin!
Bravo!

Herrin, eh? You're near my neck of the woods in western Ky. Know of any local organized Browncoat effort around here?

I got a free trial issue of LOOK magazine, (from the same publisher as EW) and what did I see as I thumbed through it, just 7 pages in, but a VERY cool looking picture of River. Think of her pose on the railings of Serenity's cargo bay in Objects in Space and then tilt her forward 90 degrees give her Gumby-like flexability and you've got the idea. Serenity is listed as number 2 in their "Top 5 dispatches from Hollywood's front lines." Obviously, I was elated, despite the fact I had never heard of this magazine before. (which is why, I'm sure, EW is trying to whore me out.) Oh well... that's a lot of babble as I'm beside myself with glee at the moment. No scanner though. I'm sure someone will get around to it eventually. If they haven't already. SERENITY NOW!!

LOL! That's great! Lately whenever I get my copy of EW, I go straight to the letters to see if there's anything Serenity-centered in it. :D

In response to StevethePirate's question: Yeah, I'm the Browncoat effort around here. I've convinced many people I know to go see it, and I'm trying to get even more. But basically, the effort is only me.

I think EW understands Firefly/Serenity has a lot of fans out there. Thats the third fan letter they have featured within about a two month period (maybe three months). Keep sending in the letters about Firefly, maybe we'll get a big Serenity issue around September.
Keep shiny!
