I don’t understand, but I envy.

Innocence is a choice. Wait. Don't huff and say it's not, because it is. We choose to see the world in a certain way. Chris, dear, you state that you are a cynic—though I’m not convinced you are. So you see everything with those eyes. I choose to see the world as innocently as I can. I've not been shot, well bbs don't count. I've been more than threatened. That's when you find that you have to keep your innocence or the fear and the pain and the hate will destroy you. I'm not Kaylee, but I try. The cynic in me still finds a way out every so often. But then I remember that it isn't a hat...it's a boa constrictor eating an elephant. It will take time, but you can learn to see things like Kaylee does.

I don't know that it is true, but:

Ok.

Actually I don't state that, but the name has stuck with me. I stopped explaining that the name is just a name, and it doesn’t really describe me, a long time ago.

I’ve become accustomed to it even though I first gave it to myself only because I wanted a name online with out a bunch of numbers after it. Has a nice ring to it, I think. I didn’t even think I was one then, but people called me one at the time, that's what gave me the idea.

I don’t know if I choose to see the world the way I do or if I just don’t know how to see it differently. I’m not saying that you are wrong, but not seeing the alternative makes it hard to make a choice.

You obviously have a story, I hope it turns out good in the end and you get the “Happily mostly after” that we all want.

A good goal I think.

That is the way of things, the way of the force.

That’s right.

Perhaps you are right, perhaps you are wrong. At least you give hope.

Thank you for taking an interest, and thank you for saying what you did about it being a choice.

First off that makes me feel good, second that helps me understand a character in something I’m writing. I’ve always known that she was an innocent, but I could never understand what that meant. Dezy, that’s her name, had gone through hell, not literally, and been forced by her morals to do things that would give most of us nightmares. But she was still innocent.

I could never understand that even though I created (or discovered depending on your viewpoint) the character. You’ve just helped. Thank you.

And thanks again for taking an interest.

I like your name.
