I've probably only seen half a dozen episodes of Farscape but checked out PKW and it was pretty damn good.

A couple of things I would in particular draw attention to are:

I didnt like Dargo dying..

I was cracking up when the peacekeeper chick(cant remember her name..) was giving birth during a battle and she was blasting away right to the last..hehe

All in all not bad.

I'm very tempted to go back watch all the seasons now.

I saw PKW when it first aired and loved it even though, at the time, I had only gotten through the season three dvds. Yesterday, I watched it again after having marathoned all of season four over the week-end. Watching all of the fourth season really added a lot of understanding to the experience of seeing PKW again. I think PKW is the perfect end to the series based on them being limited to a four hour mini. However, after seeing the fourth season, I also became really angry that they were not given an entire fifth season to tell the whole story.

The mini was great, given that that was all they had to work with. However, because of the truncation from 22 hours to only four, some elements of the story were glossed over or ignored completely. I realize that that was a necessary part of the process and I don't blame the Farscape people for it at all. It just makes me all the more angry with the Sci-fi channel for cancelling the show in the first place.

This was no thrown together piece, and it took no prisoners in terms of the recap - aside from the one minute "once upon a time, there was a boy named John", even as a big fan, I was having to reach back into the memory for some of the characters and events (damn stupid DVD box pricing; what possessed them to strangle the sales at birth with that price scale?)

There are questions left, but in the main they closed off the series, so that if they went to a movie, they would be able to do it without some of the backstory, and without criticism from the fans for ignoring it.

To avoid spoilers, I dunno - for the first, it seemed like the right thing for the story. Plus the whole run up to that point was like a Sci-Fi Zulu. As for the second, it was just one of the hilarious comedy moments (the best being the rude word on the chalkboard).

I was very upset by D'Argo dying. He was always my favorite character. But my dad made the point that they didn't actually SHOW him dying, it was just implied in the storyline. So until I see his body I'm going to hold out foolish hope that somehow he survived, escaped, and is going to catch up with the rest of the crew at a later date.

I've seen less than a dozen episodes because I didn't get SciFi when it was on and I only catch them sporadically here and there now, but I LOVE it. PK Wars aired on my birthday and I considered it SciFi's present to me. They did an excellent job of catching people like me up to speed quickly, then jumping right into it. Why, oh why can't storytelling like that survive?

Anyway, yes I liked Peacekeeper Wars and I'm trying to figure out how to go about watching the rest of the series since my video store doesn't have Farscape and the DVDs (even the Starburst editions) are going to end up strapping me.

Packer fans welcome.

Yep gotta love PK Wars. Like many other I cried buckets when Scify cancelled it- it had been shown here on BBC 2 originaly and despite puppets I watched and fell for it. PK Wars was fantastic, and even if that's it, I for one am a very happy person. The story was well thought out, the action was just gobsmacking, Rygel was hilarious, and the chemistry between Ben and Claudia was amazing. For once SciFi did the decent thing.

Found buried in the TV listings - Farscape on after midnight weekdays on BBC3. Its not good, but at least its on...

I love Farscape... and I really enjoyed much of Peacekeeper Wars; but there was just, I dunno, something unsatisfactory about it as a whole. It did tie up the plot, but much of it felt too simple. Other problems I had:

Jothee's appearance wasn't really explained, both how he'd become such a high-ranking Luxan commando and why he looked fully Luxan rather than half. The new actor was kinda weedy too...

I didn't understand the betrayal by Sikozu, and how Scorpius didn't realise she had done that much earlier - I mean, he's Scorpius fer Christ's sake! And it was all dealt with too quickly, after loads of worrying about who had betrayed them.

I can't help thinking there wasn't enough cost for switching off the wormhole weapon, and that Crichton coming back alive was a mistake, moving though that was. It just cheapened how insanely powerful the weapon was.

And why the hell was Jool some sort of savage who fancied John? Talk about inconsistency...

Anyway, I suppose these questions and other annoyances I had were mainly a result of - as someone else pointed out - the truncation of an entire season into 3 hours, so it's unsurprising. But somehow I was expecting more

And it did remind me how much more I like Firefly now too...
