Actually it is my understanding that inbreeding wouldn't be a problem if each generation produces a lot of kids but only lets the ones with the best qualities reproduce. As I understand it is only inbreeding with small amounts of children or a lack of selection that makes inbreeding bad.
Of course you’d need to make sure that the kids didn’t know it was icky to sleep with the family. And it would be brutal on the women, if even possible. (How many kids can they produce?)
Well for purposes of society I’d have to say Kaylee, River and Book. Kaylee’s innocence, Book’s faith, and River’s intelligence could do a lot towards creating a good society.
The problem I foresee is that if Book isn’t the breeding sort of man of the cloth that would mean that all children would share my genetics.
That is a scary thought. On the other hand making that happen sounds good.
