Nah, bitch.
That bump was because everyone knew Trump was going to win. It wasn't anything that Joe Biden did from his basement, or Kamala and Tim did while they were blowing each other and eating mayonnaise tacos.
It's super easy to bump the DOW when you're dumping 2.5 Trillion $ per year of debt into it.
Nobody gives a fuck about your Stock Market. 94% of the wealth is held by 8% of the people.
Fuck the rich. I don't have any money in the market.

Wall Street seems to have decided that Trump is mentally unstable
I want to suggest today that what we are seeing on Wall Street and in markets around the world is the sudden realization that the president is mentally unstable – that he has dementia, probably – and as a result of that realization, investors no longer have any faith in Donald Trump.
Yes, I know.
The conventional explanation for why markets have been tanking is the realization that Trump really meant what he said on the campaign trail, and that his position on tariffs wasn’t just rhetorical but firmer, stronger and more ideological than investors were willing to believe.
But if Trump’s position were a matter of conviction, markets might be able to adjust, as conviction would beget a clear explanation and a coherent plan of action, which in time would beget some kind of stable order that investors might not like in the end, but could come to trust.
That’s not what’s happening. Trust is long gone. On Monday, the S&P 500 fell 2.4 percent “in another wipeout,” according to the AP. The Dow Jones fell 2.5 percent, the Nasdaq 2.6 percent. More worryingly, the AP said, is that US government bonds and the value of the dollar also fell.

‘Essentially all shipments’ from China have ceased at Port of L.A.
“It's my prediction that in 2 weeks' time, arrivals will drop by 35%, as essentially all shipments out of China for major retailers and manufacturers have ceased,” Executive Director Gene Seroka told KNX News.
Seroka said many large importers have “hit the pause button on cargo from China” because they don't want to pay the tariffs.
He said retailers have about a six-to eight-week supply of goods on hand, “but that will quickly dry up” and customers will begin to see those changes on store shelves.
Trump administration officials insist they're getting close to a deal with China, but the Chinese denies that talks are happening. However, China is exempting some U.S. imports from its 125% tariff, a signal that the trade war could be de-escalating.

'A failed administration': Leaked texts from powerful Republicans reveal souring on Trump
In mid-April, Sacks left the Chatham House, and wrote that, “This group has become worthless since the loudest voices have [Trump Derangement Syndrome]."
Semafor reported that a fellow group member, only identified as Bryan Goldberg, replied by saying, "I'm not sure we have TDS. I think we - Republicans who supported Trump - are seeing that this is a failed administration."

The Trump administration is reportedly planning to eliminate the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline's specialized services for LGBTQ+ youth.
The administration would cut all funding for the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline's LGBTQ+ Youth Specialized Services, according to a leaked budget draft first reported on by The Washington Post. If approved, the cuts would go into effect in October.
Newsweek has contacted the White House Office of Management and Budget for comment via email.
Why It Matters
LGBTQ+ youth are more than four times as likely to attempt suicide than their peers, making specialized mental health support services a critical lifeline. Advocates warn that cuts would halt lifesaving services that many LGBTQ+ youth have relied on.
President Donald Trump signed the bipartisan National Suicide Hotline Designation Act into law in 2020, designating 988 as the universal number to connect people experiencing mental health crises to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
The 988 helpline, designed to be as easy to remember as the emergency line 911 and offer easier access to mental health support, launched in 2022.
Shortly afterward, callers were given the option of pressing 3 to be connected to counselors specifically trained to help LGBTQ+ youth. There are also other specialized options for veterans and Spanish speakers.
According to CNN, the leaked budget draft includes $10 million for specialized services for Spanish speakers but eliminates the funds set aside for specialized services for LGBTQ+ youth.
Since July 2022, more than 14.5 million people have called, texted or sent chats to 988 and have been transferred to a crisis contact center, according to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. More than 1.2 million people have been routed to the LGBTQ+ specialized service since September 2022.
The Trevor Project, a nonprofit dedicated to preventing suicides among LGBTQ+ youth, said it responded to almost half of the calls and texts from LGBTQ+ youth through the program.
The organization added that it directly served more than 231,000 people through the program in 2024 and trained and supported almost 250 crisis counselors and operational support staff.
What People Are Saying
Jaymes Black, the CEO of the Trevor Project said in a statement: "Suicide prevention is about risk, not identity. Ending the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline's LGBTQ+ youth specialized services will not just strip away access from millions of LGBTQ+ kids and teens—it will put their lives at risk. These programs were implemented to address a proven, unprecedented, and ongoing mental health crisis among our nation's young people with strong bipartisan support in Congress and signed into law by President Trump himself.
"I want to be clear to all LGBTQ+ young people: This news, while upsetting, is not final. And regardless of federal funding shifts, The Trevor Project remains available 24/7 for anyone who needs us, just as we always have."
Robert Gebbia, the CEO of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, said in a statement: "We understand that funding may be eliminated for 988 LGBTQ+ specialized services, and we urge the administration to continue its existing support for crisis services, including those for at-risk LGBTQ+ youth. These crisis response services are effective and save young lives."

MAGA’s War on Science
Why do these people believe that ignorance is strength?
By Paul Krugman | May 02, 2025
https://paulkrugman.substack.com/p/magas-war-on-science
Many of us have long noted the growing hostility of the G.O.P. to science. But my experience was that many people viewed those raising the alarm — like Chris Mooney, who wrote a 2005 book titled The Republican War on Science — as over the top scaremongers. https://libgen.rs/search.php?req=Chris+Mooney+War+on+Science
But at this point, can we acknowledge that MAGA is indeed waging war on science? Not just “woke” stuff, but science in general.
Nature tells us that National Science Foundation funds have been frozen, and that even if some money eventually flows again, funding will be heavily politicized:
Quote:In effect, NSF, if it supports research at all, will only support research that tells MAGA what it wants to hear. Add in RFK Jr.’s savage cuts at the National Institutes of Health, budget cuts at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Trump administration’s attacks on research universities, and we’re looking at a near-collapse of U.S. science. I don’t mean a hypothetical collapse a few years down the road, but the destruction of large parts of the American scientific enterprise — the envy of the world just a few months ago — this year.
Staff members at the US National Science Foundation (NSF) were told on 30 April to “stop awarding all funding actions until further notice,” according to an email seen by Nature.
The policy prevents the NSF, one of the world’s biggest supporters of basic research, from awarding new research grants and from supplying allotted funds for existing grants, such as those that receive yearly increments of money. The email does not provide a reason for the freeze and says that it will last “until further notice”.
Earlier this week, NSF leadership also introduced a new policy directing staff members to screen grant proposals for “topics or activities that may not be in alignment with agency priorities”. Proposals judged not “in alignment” must be returned to the applicants by NSF employees. The policy has not been made public but was described in documents seen by Nature.
Why should those who aren’t scientists care? In the 21st century, science isn’t some esoteric intellectual affair. It’s the foundation of social and economic progress. And no, we can’t expect the private sector to fill the gap left by loss of government support. Basic research is a public good: it generates real benefits, but those benefits can’t be monetized because everyone can make use of the knowledge gained. So government support is the only way to sustain science. And that support is being rapidly ended.
But why do our new rulers want to destroy science in America? Sadly, the answer is obvious: Science has a tendency to tell you things you may not want to hear. Medical research may tell you that vaccines work and don’t cause autism. Energy research may tell wind power works and doesn’t massacre birds.
And one thing we know about MAGA types is that they are determined to hold on to their prejudices. If science conflicts with those prejudices, they don’t want to know, and they don’t want anyone else to know either. So they really want to destroy science.
Again, this isn’t hyperbole, and it’s not about the long run. American science is being gutted as you read this.
