assumed it would be.

this thing once and for all.

He doesn't have any receipts for it before the 80's, but it appears to have made $5,723,384
during what appears to be a one-week/two-weekend re-release in 1982 and another $24,960,324
in 1988.
Without knowing the full details on how much it made in any of the other years, let's re-do
the inflation math based off of what we DO know now.
FACTS
1. Bambi Grossed $102,797,000 over the course of 46 years in theaters. None of this is adjusted
for inflation, so since the releases were roughly 7 or 8 years apart from each other, knowing
what the film made every release is EXTREMELY important if you want to know what the movie
actually made in today's dollars.
2. Bambi Grossed $5,723,384 in 1982. It grossed $24,960,324 in 1988. Now we know that
nearly 1/3rd of the total lifetime gross needs to have inflation adjusted for the 80s and not 1942.
3. Bambi lost money upon its original 1942 release. Per estimates, Bambi cost $858,000
to produce in 1942. Let's be EXTREMELY generous and say that even back in 1942 they considered
a movie a flop if it didn't generate 2.5 times the production budget, even though the ratio they
needed to reach was nowhere near as high as it is today. That means it earned less than
$2,145,000 to be considered a flop. So now we know that no more than $2,145,000 of the lifetime
gross can have inflation applied from 1942.
I will state that again. Only $2,145,000 (or 2.086% of the Lifetime Domestic Gross)
can have inflation applied from 1942.
4. Though we still don't know what Bambi made in 1957, 1966 or 1975, what we DO know is that
all but $2,145,000 or less of the lifetime gross needs to be applied to 1957 or later.
In other words, nearly 98% of the inflation applied to the Lifetime Gross of Bambi needs to
be applied to 1957 and later. Not 1942.
Now.... Let's work backward.
1988 Release: $24,960,324 (24.28% of the Lifetime Gross)
1988 Release Adjusted for Inflation: $67,323,669.51
MEANING: 24.28% of the Lifetime Gross of Bambi only amounts to $67,323,669.51 in 2025 dollars.

right now I'm having trouble comparing this accurately to another movie only because its budget is outrageous while its numbers keep falling
I put out other examples, Ironman-3 is where a movie makes some profits
For now I'm going with Black Adam a DC Warner Bros flop... but its numbers are much much lower, others we have the Covid era Xmen Dark Phoenix remake film, Lone Ranger 2013 film, Terminator Dark Fate, John Carter of Mars 2012 film, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny...all of these are some of the worst flops in history btw

Don't know what to say about the slightly better weekday performance for Snow White this far other than the very weak box office. The Marvels was out when Disney's Wish was out, along with Wonka and if memory serves there was a bloated Aquaman corpse floating around at the same time.
The only competition Snow White has now is the Blacktain failure, and whatever Bobby Deniro bomb just came out.
But there you go buddy. Both in (alleged) production budget and first 5-day performance, they're pretty much the same movie.
That was the biggest MCU flop ever, and one of Disney's most expensive mistakes so far.
What was the supposed budget for The Marvels last time we were updated? Remember they were saying something like $145 Million and how it was fine if it didn't do very well because of how cheap it was compared to other MCU movies? I think the last time I remember getting an update on that it was $180 or $190 Million. Now Bruce has it down for $270 Million in 2025.
Funny that, innit?
And that's probably why you didn't think to compare Snow White to The Marvels. You were probably still under the impression that it cost a lot less to make than it actually did.

Bruce doesn't know what to think. He just gave a prediction for a 50% drop without any reasoning or math behind it.
Forbes says 68%, which is the same drop that Blacktain Anti-America got.

$3,700,000 for Friday. A 77% drop from 1st weekend (but they never include previews in that number, so really a little less than that once you remove $3.5 Mil from last Friday's $16.2 Million.
There's zero chance Bruce's 50% drop is going to pan out now. It's probably going to look a lot more like Forbes' late prediction in the article above.
It did still manage to crack $100 Million last night, but just barely. I wonder how many articles I can find praising Disney for that success.
