Hans Zimmer On Academy Disqualification For ‘Dune: Part Two’ Score: “A Stupid Rule”
https://deadline.com/2025/03/hans-zimmer-academy-disqualification-dune
-part-two-score-1236320291/
The two-time Oscar winner continued, “I got disqualified because I was using material from the first movie in the second movie, but it’s not a sequel. It is the completion, both movies are one arc. So was I supposed to go and take all the character themes away and write new character themes and develop them? It’s just a stupid rule. What I didn’t want to do is go and bitch about it.”

Now THIS one is a pure f'ing BANGER....
Heard this on the end credits of some of WeirdMoviesWithMark videos for a few years and only now got around to trying to figure out where it came from.
He uses the 2nd half of it, which is unarguably the best part, but I love the full 6.5 minute version. (Mark starts it in his videos right at 3:50)

The economist is pushing sertanejo, I don't know what to make of it, like a mix of auto tuned pop, country redneck and Latin hip hopper favela music
or maybe because the Hollyweirdo pedophiles think it Oscar worthy
but you can sing to it if you know the Portuguese Brazilian words

Bossa nova and samba are out. 'Funk' is in
I don't hear that heavy downbeat with off beat, "jamming" on the bass the slap and popping note, I don't the seventh note or sus chord or sharp 9 or Mixolydian mode
I do not hear the Clyde Stubblefield snare or swung Kick drum of Zep
or other rhythm legends that others would later sample as 'Funky' it seems after James Brown and Prince the Funk is basically dead, I'm not sure what the tronica stuff is the electric keyboard samples and 'Jazzed' Funk seems its own thing, mostly FuckedInTheHead.
in the Brazil style I don't hear notes of funk I do not hear the voice drive nor do I hear that James Brown, Prince percussive groove in the voice but maybe its 'danceable' or makes people sway at the nighclub disco which they associate with funk.
or maybe its the Lyric content, but James Brown didnt say much just mostly grunted and made 'sound' they also had techniques like "choking" the guitar neck percussive hits like rock or scatting vocal improvisation with wordless vocables, nonsense syllables or without words at all, something that happened in Blues, Jazz and other World Music...the traditional Funk that once was now seems dead

I'd ask Robbie Williams what he thinks about their chances of becoming a global phenomenon.
Also, was this article written by AI? I don't see a single byline or mention of an author. Even put it on archive so I could see the whole thing and I was sure there name was at the bottom of the page. It's not.
I wanted to try to figure out the age/gender of the author to try and figure out why they got this idea in their head. But it appears to have been written by code.
