Patrimonialism is a form of governance in which all power flows directly from the ruler. There is no distinction between the public and private domains. These regimes are autocratic and exclude the lower, middle and upper classes from power.
They “exclude the lower, middle and upper classes from power.” Already we can see some begin to realize this. Republican town halls are beginning to erupt in anger. Those who have always wanted to exclude others from enjoying the fruits America offers, are now finding out they voted for someone who plans on denying them the fruits America offers. There're learning that their stature in this country is now less than before.
They already hate Musk. Trump less so, because believing Trump could care less about them is hard to swallow. They first must come to terms with how badly they’ve been duped. Many will not be able to. Evangelicals must come to terms with the fact that Trump never was religious, but instead is a predator. That he preyed upon them. But swallow it they will because if they continue to embrace it, the country will hit a point of no return.
