i like the stunt in war stories wear nathan and alan had to pretend that they were in pain. it was kind of funny when their conversation kept getting interupted by the torture.

Poor lady was getting all mauled and bruised by Inara and pretended it didn't hurt a bit. Now *that's* acting.
I'll be in my bunk.

Great question, TheSomnambulist!!
I don't know if it was a stunt double or not but I loved everything Early did in OiS. Especially when he took out Book.
Oh, and the stunt double who took one for the team by going through the engine in Train Job
.

Yeah there are some great moves in that Episode. Also just the way Early moves is great to watch.
I always felt stunt doubles should receive better credit . So that in the titles they actually say who doubled for whom....
They seem a strangely overlooked bunch the stuntmen/stuntwomen and given that these days praise goes out to just about everyone, even PA's! You'd think there would be better coverage for the humble stunt workers.
Still I've always thought it was cool of Joss and the other creators how often they would praise Mike Massa for his stunt work on Angel!
Any more?.... Falling off a horse is so much apart of the action these days you hardly notice it but I would imagine it's bloody difficult to do? I've always whinced whenever I watch stunts on horses. Especially old westerns !!!

i've done stunts in movies off and on (I was the guy hurled over a wall by Toxie in "Toxic Avenger 4", if you can stomach that kinda stuff) and my favorite stunt was definitly the guy flipping backwards after gettin hit with the pool cue.
The guy bouncing his head down the shaft(War Stories) was cgi. As was the guy getting sucked into the engine.

Hey Cheers for giving me a reason to watch Toxic avenger 4 ! That is fantastic. Can you be more specific just in case there are lots of guys thrown over the wall!
How'd you get into stunt work anyway, and what else have you done because I'd love to check out your work.
:)

One thing that's always bothered me is Nathan Fillon on a horse. His shoulders are all slumped and his elbows are flying around like a chickens wings and...ughh, just makes me cringe every time.
*Twitch. Twitch.* I agree with you completely about Nathan. I don't expect him to ride perfectly, but the horse person within wants to yell at him. 'Shoulders back! Elbows in! Heels down! Hands still!' Maybe that's my English instructor coming out more than my Western rider, though...
To be on topic...I'll add another praise for when a stunt man flips when he's hit with a pool cue. ^_^
"Bwaa...it's kind of a warrior...strikes fear into the hearts of..."

OMG, exactly! And i don't even care so much if he has pefect equitation (he is riding weastern after all) but i think every time he's on a horse he's needs to get somewhere fast (either to the ship before the reavers, or trying to catch the hover craft thing) so he needs to ride like hes going somewhere! Stand up in the sturrups, lean over the neck and RIDE LIKE YOU HAVE SOMEPLACE TO GO! He just kind of sits there like a sack of potatoes.
Sorry, rambling. But this HAS reminded me of another stunt I LOVE - in Serenity, when Mal shoots the horse and it falls over on top of, um, that woman who tries to shoot him again... Totaly drawing a blank on her name right now.
