Just the name Lantern made it sound dated as F when I was a kid in the 80's.
If it weren't for fantasy video games, kids today wouldn't even know what a lantern is.
DC has 3 heroes anybody really cares about. Everybody else is there because the Hall of Justice would look pretty empty if it was just Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.

However some Japan animation is terrible, very basic pencils, basic sound, in a high selling product "Dandadan" even the frame rate or animation itself can be terrible
