Okay, so here's the story:

Friday nights are always a little depressing now, because it reminds me that Firefly isn't on anymore. However, as we've all seen in the news, Fox has practically flirted with the notion of accepting blame for their role in botching up the launch of Firefly, along with several other fall programs no longer with us. That, combined with what appears to be increased (or at least non-waning) interest in Firefly, and lots of critical appeal and support...maybe, just maybe, we could actually convince Fox to give it a summer relaunch.

I had an idea recently, ran it by a couple folks here who really seemed to like it.

Here's the plan:

Every weekend, let us all send postcards to Fox. Let us send them to Gail Berman and our local affiliates, and probably even some sponsers. Lets remind them that every weekend, instead of writing these postcards, we would be watching this wonderful show if it were still on. Lets vow to keep doing this, as many weekends as possible until the summer season launch that Fox has planed. Perhaps if it is demonstrated to Fox that the spirit of Firefly is still kicking, and dying to be heard, they will give us another, fairer chance.

Kiba and the Powers That Be only ask that we all be really polite, and that is far from an unreasonable request. Everyone on their most honorable browncoat behavior, now :)

The only thing *I* personally ask is this: Postcards only. If someone wants to make neat, eyecatching graphics for AmazingMail use, or for printing out and making your own, faannnntaaaastic! Even if you want to send out letters instead, great. But please, no objects (in space). :)

So all I need now are a list of addresses (sponsers, Gail Berman, affiliates, anyone else who might be good). Any help with this would be most appreciated.

If people want to email me, it's wyldkard75@hotmail.com.

I know this may be quixotic at best, and that some of you have given up, but I just feel in my heart of hearts that if we don't let the pressure up now, we still have a chance. Especially if we are particularily dedicated, and the media starts to take notice of how much people REALLY seem to love this show....

So lets move it out!

(P.S. Kiba also mentioned to me she's going to spread the word by next week on how to contact the production company, and remind them that we, as huge fans of the show, would really like to buy Firefly merchandise. I personally suggest Firefly-edition "Captain Mal" brown dusters :)

Hell Yeah!!!! I would buy two if they made them available.

Sign me up for the new postcard campaign. I will gladly fill out postcards every Friday night. Just post some addresses on who we want them sent to and I will start this Friday night.

I'm in...
Plus, bonus points for the word "quixotic". (I've always loved Cervantes.)

I went to fox.com looking for contact info, but all I could find was the bottomless pit address that they tell everyone to send any fox mail to. couldn't find any info on programming directors or the like. Anyone else have better luck?

On a side note, was flipping channels last night and happened across the movie "Blast from the Past", and much to my surprise, in walked Captain Tightpants, trying to steal Brendan Fraser's girl. And that brute punched our Nathan Fillion in the nose THREE times!

I miss Firefly......

(Hey Haken, I need a crying emoticon...)

Excellent work!

If anyone has an old list of the sponsers, that would be extra plus good.

I am willing to help folks find the web sites for their affiliates. Actually, putting in the station number and the call letters into Google will probably spit out results. Also, does Fox.com have an affiliates search engine, like UPN does?

This is from a different Firefly discussion. Seems more appropriate here.

...has anyone else been sending near-daily emails to Fox on http://www.fox.com/community/askfox/ in the "feedback" section? In addition to postcards and calls to my local affiliate, I've been making rather a (perfectly polite!) pest of myself there. Couldn't hurt...

I will send a few post cards. You can buy very inexpensive ones at the post office for something like 27 cents. I will send as many as I can very good idea.
