Here's all I can find on it: Just March. Friday Death slot.FOX. Maybe It'll come out on DVD
Welcome to the The Inside guide at TV Tome.

At first glance, Danny Roberts (Rachel Nichols, Dumb & Dumberer) seems to be the quintessential American teenager, dating the quarterback at a suburban high school. Only a few know her secret: Danny is not really a high school student, but a 22-year-old federal agent working undercover. Helping Danny – who is actually Agent ELIZABETH WORTH – maintain her cover is Agent Sean Eckhardt (Peter Facinelli, Fastlane).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the pilot episode, Danny / Elizabeth's drug investigation is sidetracked when her high school "boyfriend" is murdered. She must confront the pressures of getting personally involved in the lives of her classmates, while working to solve the murder and put the drug investigation back on track – all without blowing her cover. Over the course of the series, Danny's assignments will vary, but she always faces the unique challenges of going undercover to solve crimes.

Last I had heard the premise was changed. It was no longer going to be an undercover agent at a high school at all. I was more of a standard investigator drama. I could be thinking of something else though.

I think initially it was going to be a 21 Jump Street retread, with her always at that high school and trying to keep her cover. But (and this is from memory, so I could be wrong) Tim thought the format was limited and weak, so it was expanded to include different undercover assignments.

So, in short, yes. You are right. Or we're both wrong.

And here I add the little head banging against a wall for no good reason other than it makes me laugh.

"Be ashamed to die before you have scored some victory for humanity." -- Horace Mann

I emailed FOX yesterday through a link on their website, asking when "The Inside" would premiere. Their reply?

"Sometime in 2005. Thanks for asking."

And my reply to that was:

"Thanks so much for the specificity."

FOX still SUCKS!

You're just slightly wrong. Tim ditched the entire high school undercover premise for the reasons you mentioned. The central character is going to be a young FBI agent in the Violent Crimes unit in L.A. It will have a Silence of the Lambs feel to it. Her veteran partner will be the good guy to the boss's bad, or jaded, guy, metaphorically vying for her soul (Tim's metaphor). She also has a troubled past. Plus you've got Adam Baldwin playing yet another agent, who's a bit unpleasant.

Well, I read Fox has decided to make Fridays movie night at least through May sweeps, so don't expect The Insider to appear on a Friday night anytime soon.

I also read that David Fury (who was working on Lost) has left to write for The Insider. Fury worte my favorite episode on Lost (Walkabout), so I am looking forward to see what he can do for this show.
