...I'd laugh if it weren't so pathetic.
Wow, I didn't think it would be any good, but after seeing that, I can't wait!!

Call me crazy, but I think I will actually wait to see an episode before passing judgement. I'm a sucker for superheroes.

If they wanted to create a new show then they should've made it with new characters instead of these horrid mutations.
Is nothing sacred anymore?

Not only should they have used original characters, but for goodness sake, is EVERYTHING animated in the same "flash" style now? Everything looks like cheap internet downloads a-la OTV from a couple of years ago. . .'Battle Angel', 'Bulletproof Diva' and stuff like that.

Well, I've never considered anything sacred. Some fans of the old Battlestar Galactica will never accept the new, even though I consider it one of the best scifi shows around (firefly is still numero uno though). I'm glad the creators of the new BSG didn't consider it sacred and untouchable. I'm just saying I actually judge a show after I watch it rather than speculating from snippets and what not. I actually don't believe they are trying to replace the old with the new. They are just trying something different with familiar characters. It may fall on its face but I will wait to pass judgement.

Have you actually seen an animated clip or are you talking about the internet preview that is probably just a Flash file made for advertising purposes?

I as well love the new BSG. The acting is better than anything I've seen in a long time, effects are better than anything I've seen... you get the idea.
I'm not saying that they can't touch Bugs and the gang. I'm just saying that since there is a long standing "what they are," they can't do certain things. I believe that some of those certain things is entirely re-inventing the character. Which is what they've done here.
IMO, if you are going to re-invent a character to the degree found here, then just invent a new one. Which could've been easily done given the radical new context (relitively speaking), etc.
I've also never stated that this show will suck. I've only stated that they should never have done what they've done to these characters. There is a difference.
You stated, "...probably just a Flash file..."
Well perhaps you should've actually viewed it yourself before asking such a question. If you would've, you would know that it is a .mov that is a commercial for the show. This is far from just some flash file.
I, like you, (although I would think that you wouldn't think this given your comments toward me) will not pass judgement on the show. I just pass judgement [n]on the people who made the horror of a decision (IMO) to do the horrible things to these characters and what they have done to these characters. Again, there is a difference.

If they change the names are they still the same characters?
Not really. Also being set in the "future" {post or pre Duck Dodgers?} also changes things ... hummm, do I sense knee-jerk reactions? Coooooould Beeeee!
Don't like it before you experance it? Ahhh ... prejudging at its finest!

You know. . .you're right in one way, but in another. . .it would be like doing a show that features a blonde-haired teenage/early college age girl who, through the use of martial arts, kills WEREWOLVES, and name her "Muffy".
Or a crew of interplanetary smugglers led by a guy who wears a long BLACK coat and his name is "Hal Reynolds".
You know?

So? Muffy may be Buffy's long lost auntie and Hal may be Mal's Daddy!
The original 'Bugs'and crew are still there - and on DVD even - unmolested. The "new show" changes nothing of the past Loony Toons - they are even changing the 'global' name to 'Loonitics' {however it is spelled}. The nay-sayers are still prejudging and appear very narrow-minded.
Point is this: Someone else OWNS the rights to the characters and whatnot - they have the right to do with it as they want. Want something to stay the same - buy it and insure NOONE else has any rights to the subject in any form of media...
{example: Brian Henson and his sister bought back ALL of Henson Production items for the hefty tune of 84mil}
...wait, could that be considered a tad akin to censorship?
BSG 2003 went the right direction - we can only hope 'Loonitics' follows it on that higher road.
I think some folks like to get their pants in a twist over minor things to spice up their day!
