I can't imagine THAT going very far with many people for very long!
It's so gorram counter to most people's lives ... not just in the heartland but liberal coastal cities...

Yeah. That's only the top 10 Google results for "Kamala" "Joy" right now. There are a LOT more with "Joy" in the title. I'm sure if you watch CNN and MSNBC they say the word "Joy" 400 times per day.
It feels like I'm living in a George Orwell book right now.
I'm not mad at the politicians for politicking. Hell... I'm not really even mad a the Media for doing this because we've known for a long time what they're up to.
I'm disappointed in how many people just eat it all up. The same people that have gone around calling everyone else a Nazi the last 10 years are completely oblivious to the fact that they're the ones who behave exactly like the German citizens who got swept up in the propaganda that led to WWII.
I just don't get it.
A month or so ago, I thought everyone was waking up. Now they've all taken their Joy and are happily going right back to sleep.

It's such a jarring word in the context of this election.
When I see a politician, even one I think is half decent, "JOY" is not the first word that comes to mind!
On the other end, what did Trump urge people to do?
"FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!"
But people are tired of fighting, tired of scrambling for a living, tired of worrying about crime in the streets, the future. What they want is someone to FIGHT FOR THEM. They need someone that will provide ACTUAL hope and change (how Obama sullied that phrase!) not an invitation to more worry and stress.
A question was asked "If Trump loses, do you think they'll be a revolution?" The answer: "Trump WAS the revolution". That's the revolution that Americans are capable of right now. Hope has been mostly burned out.
But still .... "JOY"????
In what universe is that even a viable alternative and not just a mental hiccup?

Oh... Make no mistake. They're running on the "Hope and Change" thing too. That's all wrapped up in the Joy messaging.
It doesn't matter that there is no hope and there will be no change. Change from what? They're currently running the country and they have been for 4 straight years now. But they take their Joy and they eat it all up.

After the old man refused to go, as he sat protected by his wife Jill and his son, Hunter, Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama, and Kamala Harris decided it was time for Joe to get some tough love. Out you must go, old man, democracy be damned! Democracy only applies if it means Democrats win. We have to kill it to save it, don’t you get it?
So they made Joe an offer he could not refuse. But of course, all that George Clooney talk about having a real primary to decide who should be the nominee fell out the window instantly. The Vice President who had dropped out of the 2020 primary that she could not win, whose approval numbers had been worse than Biden’s throughout her term, was selected to be the nominee.
Yes, the person they all believed could not handle the job of Vice President is now going to be The President! You did it!
She was selected and installed without a single vote from the people. If you believed America was an inherently racist and misogynist country, you might do the same thing. You might think there is no other way to make history than to manufacture making history. After all, isn’t that what the Oscar voters do? Then celebrate as another war won against the white supremacist empire?
You see, the problem isn’t Harris. The problem is that no woman or woman of color can win in America. So why not tweak things here and there, just take out the whole campaign thing, and give her a leg up? Push Harris where she deserves to be rather than where she landed.
And now you see it doesn’t even matter. They will trot out Old Joe tonight and pretend to be the heroes who “saved democracy,” who “saved America,” and who believe in all the good things America should stand for. Except, you know, what America actually does stand for.
