Boy... they're really stretching for titles here. Paperboy the movie? Space Invaders the movie? Bomberman the movie?
I think they've got maybe 5 titles in that list that could actually make a transition to the screen and have a possibility of being any good and/or making money. Probably Metroid, Half Life, Diablo, Grand Theft Auto and making a property based off of one of the popular Final Fantasy games instead of going their own way with it like they did with the first movie.
Maybe when they had all that Venture Capital they could have tried making a bunch of these games into movies if they weren't wasting all that money on DEI shit that nobody is ever going to watch, but nobody is going to make a Donkey Kong Country movie in 2024.

Given that Disney is doing Star Wars shows, one they could do is the storyline of X-Wing Alliance, fitting it into canon. The game actually told a story: the Azzameen family were sympathetic to the Rebellion, but not part of it - until they had a run-in with the Empire, and then Ace, Emon, Aeron, and their gung-ho droid Emkay had to join, as their home base was raided, their father Tomaas and brother Galen went MPD, and their only chance was a contact (i.e. FWB) she had in the Rebellion. There is of course treachery, in the form of their uncle Anton, who secretly informs the Empire of their doings and then betrays them at Kessel. The Bothans deservedly get a role, as does the fan favourite Dash Rendar - and the TIE Defender!
All the events fit into canon very neatly; might be nice to see an outsider's POV outside and then inside the Rebellion. One thing they absolutely must do, though: depict the traitor Anton getting his! :)
It'd make a great movie or series IMO.

Sounds like everything you need to make an interesting story to me. Thanks for sharing it.
I was always a "gamer", but I didn't really get to experience the golden era of DOS even though I had a computer back then. It was an old 486 with a 33mhz processor that was already outdated when my mom made an impulse buy off of home shopping network. Not that I was complaining at the time, which would have been around 1993 or so, since we never had a computer until then and I wouldn't have known the difference anyway. I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Even got it to play DOOM without the sound effects by learning the "secret" code of holding, I think... "alt & F5" to bypass the Windows 3.1 boot and give just enough memory to make it playable. I probably would have never even gotten into tech if it weren't for that thing and taking it apart on a hardware and software level after the novelty of it wore off with the rest of the family and they didn't care if I tinkered with it.
I didn't ever have a better PC than that until around 2000 when a buddy of mine taught me how to build one. We actually made it a day to go to a computer show that was being held locally and we bought all the parts. He built one at the same time he was showing me how to.
Our big mistake that day? Going halves on Windows Me. The worst operating system ever made. Who'd have known?
Once I got that thing up and running I was playing Deus Ex and having my mind blown to bits by that and I'd kind of just outgrew Star Wars by that time. I didn't even know this game existed until you mentioned it here. It's really cool how DOS was able to tell complex stories in its games all the way back in the mid-to-late 90's. Even though I didn't have a great computer, my cousins did and we played all sorts of cool stuff whenever we went over there. I played Star Wars games on Super Nintendo and the SEGA 32x, but as impressive as those games both were for their time, the storytelling aspect was so limited. My brother probably read every single Star Wars novel that Lucas declared canon, so I know it really erked him when Disney destroyed and discarded all of that.
Can you believe they have had interviews over the years defending themselves and talking about how hard it is to write new stories when they have all of these things that talented people wrote long before they were involved?
Boggles the mind...

Japan is the place to look, it still has so much cultural 'Soft power' and that tech 'Cool Japan' vibe among the gamer community, for its small size Japan dominates they had huge influence on toons and tech, manga, anime and video games have been huge, they seem to have a lot of indoor entertainment.
Sony, Nintendo, Sega all the big brands and games have been there for many years, before Mobile Cell Phones got big they had Gameboys for decades and many types of small hand held game devices that were like the Androids and iPhones, point and click puzzle games are a thing, Visual novels (VNs) there are also Interactive film cartoon or Interactive Live graphic adventure games, a new genre of tv might be launced the same way as Choose Your Own Adventure books.
There seems to be a lot of stuff in Japan a video game property already cartoon animated and some more upcoming international stuff
Hello Neighbor horror survival, Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel Northern War, Shenmue Animation, Dota Dragon's Blood, Devil May Cry, Ark The Animated Series, Dead Cells, Skull and Bones, Onimusha series, Hyper Light Drifter, Vampyr is an action role-playing video game.

after Fallout I think its only a matter of time Hollywood starts looking through old dustbins and trash cans for video game plots
that's assuming Hollywood still has money to buy these properties and has the brain to make a decent tv show or movie and not ruin it with their SJW politics.

I have no interest in No Man's Sky.
I hope they didn't spend the same amount of money on that show. Their built in fan-base is much smaller than Fallout. They're going to have to have put on a hell of a show here to pull in the normies without the Fallout fans getting other people to watch it.
I got my old man, my brother, and 3 of my friends to watch Fallout. And I'm just some nobody in my mid-40s. Fallout had a pedigree going back to 1997. No Man's Sky came out in 2016 and did not impress too many people. After the original letdown and laughter finally died out, I don't even think anybody took this game seriously until updates that were made to it 4 years after launch.
I'm not saying there isn't a story here if there's a great showrunner and writer's room, but I hope they kept that budget down and some dumb suit didn't just waste hundreds of millions of dollars here just because Fallout did so well.
...
Not that I care at all about award shows, but since they are a thing that is still around, I'm glad Fallout got 13 nominations. It deserves every one of them.
