I'm not saying that you'd starve. And I'm certainly not trying to make any arguments about moral superiority here either. Just basic facts about needs vs. wants, who produces what, and at what cost. We live in a country where basic necessities are so dirt cheap in most economic situations that most people just take every one of them for granted. Most people have zero understanding how any of it works. Not just food production, but every modern convenience from plumbing to electricity too.

The entire society that we've built is ALL man-made, and enough generations have passed now where most people who don't work the jobs keeping everything running think it's all magic and never even consider why things are the way they are or how anything works.

If we really split up, things would change pretty fast and those little county wealth stats you're flaunting right now would change virtually overnight. Who's to say how far things ultimately change and where all the chips might fall? But believing that they'd resemble anything similar to what you're providing today isn't something one could reasonably do.

You'd have to buy all of our food at 10 times the price you're paying for it now. 20 times more maybe. Or go buy Russia's if you don't like it. I don't care where you get it. We know none of you are going to learn how to grow anything and you sure as shit aren't going to hunt what you eat.

Where are you even going to get replenishable sources of food that would sustain 150 Million or so people? Would you prefer to hunt in the burnt down forests or on the concrete blocks? I don't care what Democrats say, you've got a lot of meat eaters too. I hope they like deer.

Meanwhile, I'll keep buying my tech on the cheap from Asian countries. That's where most of it is made anyways. We're still going to be able to do that because Florida is coming with us and we'll have plenty of ports available.

Have fun paying for the Chip Act. We won't be paying for that or any federal taxes anymore in this fictional future were we're going to see who has the bigger dick.

And watch that money you supposedly make every year dry up real quick when the half of the country that produces all the food, and builds and fixes everything that people need to live in our modern-take-everything-for-granted society are all paying their income taxes to a new Federation. Have fun paying double on your taxes to continue to employ the bloated, wasteful, anti-meritocracy public sector when all you do is produce the things that people only have time to care about because life is just so goddamned easy in America in 2024.

The father died from the delayed effects of a car crash. You're careful to report it was close to home (most car crashes are) but fail to report who, or what, was at fault.

One son was sentenced to 10 years in jail. Was this long beford Trump, too? Or was this the other son?

The way you snip little pieces to post and leave others out makes me think you're lying, again. That is, if you haven't just made this up whole cloth.

Here, tho, is a true cautionary tale

Mom was raised by an aunt who not only threw popcorn on the floor and made her wards fight for it "like dogs", she let her boyfriends sexually abuse the girls.

This left the one I'll call Caroline so traumatized and starved for love, she hooked up with any man who said he loved her.

Two children but no marriage later, Caroline is living in her car and desperate for a job when we hire her out of charity.

She gets arrested for resisting arrest bc, unbeknownst to her, there was an outstanding warrant on the car- and her- collected by her sister while using Caroline's car and driver's license.

We first hear about it bc Caroline failed to pick her children up from school, so we had to take them in over a long Thanksgiving weekend and try to reassure them. The "resistjng arrest" came about most likely she was drinking, at times heavily, and didn't have good judgement anyway.

At some point, she marries a charmer with a drug problem, moves in with him and then gets evicted a year later bc he was supposed to be pzying the rent but was in reality putting it up his nose. She and her children come to live with us.

Her husband is arrested for murder.

The final straw, and the thing that gets her fired, is letting her husband, who owed money to his dealers, sleep in her car in our neighborhood.

One girl gets taken in by her dads family and we lose track of her. The other girl gets seriously into debt having her car repaired after it was stolen and trashed.

She gets a job where her aunt works as a medical transcriptionist, and also shares her aunt's drug habit. Last I knew, she was doing twelve steps.

I learned that if someone is determinedto flush their lives down the toilet, no amount of help can stop them.

The rest of the story is lost to us.

They leaned Democrat.
