What the hell happened last night? Putting aside Biden's seeming cognitive issues, his voice was barely audible or understandable during the debate. I had to turn up the TV volume a lot just to make out what he was saying. But today, he's clear as a bell and you might want to turn the volume down before listening to this clip.

And afterward, the CNN post-mortem panel seemed genuinely shocked that months of playing pretend had skidded to such an ignominious finish.
Which raises a great many questions, starting with: why on earth did the Democratic Party and its media handmaidens persist in pretending month-after-month that “Joe Biden” was a fit candidate for another four-year term? Last night, he didn’t appear capable of even finishing the current term.
Or even a current sentence.

It's 538 doesn't understand what they're doing, unless of course they know they're lying and it's YOU that doesn't understand what they're doing. That's pure bullshit magic math.
Not only is Trump up 0.3 points on Biden* in their General Election popularity contest which means virtually nothing because the Electoral College exists, but Trump is up on Biden in nearly all the battleground states, even according to 538's state polling. Most of them outside the margin of error.
And Trump being up 0.3 in the General Election aggregate is catastrophic for Democrats, since Joe* will get 5 Million more votes than Trump in California alone. Probably an additional 2 or 3 Million in Illinois and New York combined as well. Trump is doing 10 to 12 points better than he was at this point in 2020, depending on which aggregate you're looking at.
Either 538 is lying to you, or they forgot how math works.
This is nowhere near a coin-flip. Certainly not a coin flip in Joe*'s favor.
And after last night the polls coming in over the next two weeks are going to make it far, far worse for Joe*.

And Joe didn't get a placebo last night. He was clearly amped up on something. His eyes were bugging out like a crackhead when the debate started.
